When is the first realistic medal chance of the Games for your nation? day #1, event #2 (women's Synchronized 3m Springboard) When do you think your nation will get their first medal and in which event? day #1, Cycling, men's ITT (if we consider the event's start time) or Judo, women's -48kg (if we consider the actual moment in which the medal would be a done deal) Is there a bumper day for your nation where you expect more than one or a few medals to come? If so, what day? well, I think we have at least 3 medal chances each and every day of the Olympics, in the first week even more thanks to fencing, swimming and shotgun shooting Is there a day when you expect to have not so much competitors from your nation competing or no chances for medals? Monday & Tuesday, August 5th & 6th are probably our 2 weakest days, but still we have at least 2/3 medal chances no "empty" days for us, luckily

personally speaking, for what concerns the European Nations (especially France) it's just a question of sport (and sometimes not only sport) rivalry no hate, no love lost...just hoping to see my Country on top of our main rivals (and making them the most envious as possible) for what concerns and (and, if they were there representing themselves ), the beginning was more about a classic David vs Goliath feeling...they're always so dominant in the medal table that everytime they lose a piece down the road some kind of subtle pleasure is there but then...well, there's always also some regret because they never paid enough for their so widely spread doping cheats (Balco/NOP just to name a couple for the or the many State Doping programs for the other 2 big Nations), so, it's also something deeper for the 3 sports "giants"

really, I have no hate for any athlete, even if I think that some people shouldn't be part of the world of sports because they're cheaters rather than true criminals however, keeping things in sport terms, even if there's no hate, everytime I see * and representative lose, I'm really happy *except for Jutta, of course

my picks... over 'cause the Georgians basically rely only on Judo and Wrestling, meanwhile Turkiye have a wider range of chances over the Asians have been deprived of their best chances after being declared ineligible in Weightlifting, so I think Denmark will have the edge over the Swiss might be the surprising package in Paris, they have the most medal chances ever over the Africans only have a slight medal chance in the whole Games, meanwhile the Europeans are competitive in more disciplines over the Kiwis have quite a few sports that will provide them a lot of gold medals over rowing being the key factor for this prediction to happen over shooting, slalom canoeing and Salkazanov > taekwondo (and athletics) over Alekna being the key to success 1. I started in February 1984, the Sarajevo Winter Olympics and luckily I haven't missed any since then 2. Lillehammer 1994 (Winter) and Sydney 2000 (Summer) are definitely my best Olympic memories Pyeongchang 2018 is without any doubt my worst Olympic experience because it came just a few months after my mom's death and in that period I was so sick in both my body and my soul that I couldn't enjoy anything in life however, technically speaking, under a strict sports point of view, Sochi 2014 were the worst Games ever

I hope it all works well and all the atheltes will have no consequences for swimming in the Seine if they survived Rio 2016, we can even be optimist for Paris still, I don't think that any system can turn things around in a few days just with the help of a bit of sun -
following too many sports, I have too many favourite athletes, also among those from foreign Countries just to name a few (random, not in particular order), Field Hockey teams, especially the women, women's handball team, Rikako Ikee (swimming), Janja Garnbret (sport climbing), Uta Abe (judo), Nino Schurter (mountain bike), Aron Szilagyi and Olga Kharlan (fencing) but this is just a short list...

no idea... I only hope that this time Discovery Plus would keep the Olympic feeds longer on their app than 3 years ago, 'cause I just can't watch every single event live...I need some weeks to make up for those things I couldn't watch in those 16 days -

look, I'm used to the same narrative every week here in Milan (and every Summer in general in Italy) in Milan they say there's always too much pollution, but guess what? it's only about stopping the private circulation on weekends, never Monday through Friday, when people must go to work if the air is heavily polluted, it's 365 days/year, not 260 in many places close to the big cities, they say people can't bath because of E.Coli and other bacteria through the cold months, but suddenly, each and every Summer, when you're at risk of losing many tourists, the sea water becomes crystal clear and clean... so, if they say that the river Seine is not healthy (and for what I know, it's years that bathing is prohibited there, not just from yesterday and the recent shitty weather days), I just can't trust politicians that from one day to another change that evaluation only because the Olympics are at the door (or because of a couple of sunny days), 'cause the quality of a big river (not to mention the sea) can't change that much that quickly that's biology then, there's politics and politicians...and unfortunately they take the final decisions p.s. always ready to ask for pardon if I'm (really) wrong -

surely not where other tv channels/ott services have bought the tv rights in Europe, I think it's only about Discovery Media (and their agreements with some public TV networks for the mandatory FTA coverage) -

as if it was yesterday ps do you remember the 1986 world championships men's final in Madrid? -
in Tokyo I managed to sleep 3 hours/day (from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.) for the entire 16 "full days" of the Olympics...and I was 47 and with a broken knee (I couldn't sleep in any case because of the pain...so, why not watching live also in the middle of the night?) and tbh, I wasn't so sick and/or tired at the end...I was even surprised of how well I could manage that physical challenge this time, it's gonna be a walk in the park...wake up at 7 and going to sleep at midnight/1 a.m. is basically my everyday's routine

surely...well...if my dad's health stays good I hope to follow the Games all day long, from early morning to late night 1a. swimming, athletics, fencing, judo and cycling (track + MTB cross-country) 1b. that would change according to the athletes' performance, impossible to say in advance... for sure, this time the men's Freestyle Wrestling -74kg class would be something special 2. I guess almost every Totallympics user knows what are the "activities" I'm not interested in at all in the Olympic program: artistic swimming, rhythmic gymnastics & trampoline, freestyle bmx, skateboarding (especially park), equestrian dressage and "that one" (I do even refuse to write its name )

day #3 still on top of the medal table, thanks to the 5th gold medal of the championship (Sara Curtis, women's 50m freestyle) the other 4 titles of the day went to (R.A. Badea, men's 200m IM), (M. Damborg, women's 100m fly), (women's 4*200m freestyle relay) and, above all, to K. Tuncelli, who won the men's 1500m freestyle with the new Junior World Record* in 14.41.89, which most likely is going to be the performance of the championships (surely it is so far) *yes, we all know that some amazing clockings of a few years ago aren't recorded in the junior list (which is quite recent), but still @dullard @Topicmaster1010

day #2 in the pool stay on top of the medal table with 2 more gold medals (Sara Curtis in the women's 50m backstroke and the mixed 4*100m free relay) and going up to 4 titles, but are just behind with their 3 gold medals won Today (Trepocka, men's 200m free; Kauspedas, men's 50m backstroke; Plytynskaite, women's 50m breststroke) increase their tally to 2 gold medals thanks to Minna Abraham (women's 200m free), meanwhile (Mihalache, men's 200m fly), (Blocksidge, women's 1500m free) and (Allahverdi, men's 50m breaststroke) just won their 1st gold of the championship
