  1. Ahh, the infamous Korea/Japan WC. Had forgotten about this, great reminder
  2. To be fair, most great footballers don't care for the MLS, when they come from Europe. It's a nice retirement paycheck of sorts, without playing so hard.
  3. When is the new season opening all great one @Wumo
  4. Why didn't Eurosport show it this year? Budget cuts again? I don't think the ratings could be that dreadful last year for them to completely scrap it. Though when watching it last year, i didn't find it that interesting and the teams were so random, it made no sense.
  5. I think you have to be Canadian to hate Genie
  6. Had some printers at my company who are sometimes set for American paper and when people try to print it always gave an error "Load paper". And people were loading our paper and going back to their seat and then back, and load again. I've lost count how many times i have seen this and it's always funny how people get angry at the printer.
  7. Someone like Grigor Dimitrov. Know the feeling
  8. People in Canada don't work, otherwise they wouldn't be so happy.
  9. Who knew that 50 year old Ilmars Bricis has such a myth about him He is like the mini Radek Stepanek. I see that former BG number one Pavlina Filipova has been his girlfriend at some point.
  10. Yeah, i too reckon that TV priorities are the main reason. NBC will of course want their US main events like snowboard, alpine and figure skating in their primetime. Likewise with Europe and biathlon, ski-jumping, hockey. At least with hockey, you can somewhat split it, with US/Canada matches in the morning to accommodate their market and European games at the evening. Another reason, though not very prominent in 2020, is the optimal use of the daylight for the outdoor sport. Thankfully with the flood lights we can now have events like jumping, biathlon, some freeski, snowboard or alpine events going at night, otherwise everything could have been jammed in 6-7 hours a day. And also, again not very top priority reason in these times, but schedules are also taking in account for attendances availability. You try not to schedule many things in the middle of the day, when the majority of people are at work and you try to make it more convenient for them. And even so, it can be managed to have a schedule with fewer gaps...
  11. Only the last 2 years? It seems to me, that ever since i'm following winter sports, Otepää is the place that never goes as planned. Every summer/fall when i see the new calendars and find Otepää on there i go "Well that is not going to happen and it's a free weekend".
  12. These schedules are never to my satisfaction, so nothing new here. Even with the extra day(s) and fewer sports than the Summer, they still can't make a cohesive one with non-stop events..
  13. Quite a few surprises in the first round. With many of the favourites at the back, or not making top 30 at all, like Kraft and Tande and the switching wind, a surprise winner is coming
  14. Ooops, i swear i was looking for this Thank you Boss man.
  15. I have a suggestion. Is it possible to have, when you click on a page (thread) to direct you to the last unread post? I am getting slightly annoyed having to scroll down every time to the newest comment.
  16. There will be 2 charter flights for all teams going to Kuusamo and then Nizhny Tagil, which will be a first. This time all favorites are making the trip to Russia, because it is a rare opportunity to have a whole week of training on snow after the bad pre-season camps.
  17. And we are off The best thing of the new season is that the white thief known as Walter Hofer is finally gone.
  18. The younger Marquez got a break, as he was going back to Moto 2 a few weeks ago. The chain of rider shuffling landed in his favor to stay in GP for next year too.
  19. If you are a Moto 2 rider from Italy, you are hitting the jackpot this year, as all of Bastianini, Marini and Bezzecchi got a contract for Moto GP next year. But Bazzecchi turned it down, because he wants another year in Moto 2..
  20. Lukashenko should take notes from Uncle Joe on how to fraud an election and get away with it.
  21. Official start list is out: http://medias1.fis-ski.com/pdf/2021/JP/3037/2021JP3037SLQ.pdf People missing from top 30 last year: Stephan Leyhe Johann Forfang Domen Prevc Killian Peier Roman Koudelka Freund and Wellinger are returning to the German team.
  22. I didn't have Dublin in my destinations to Go list, but i have reconsidered that My jaw hurts of laughter after that video. Everyone has such a great reaction with a smile and people look genuinely happy and enjoying themselves. Add to that the great architecture, and the insane amount of beautiful girls on the streets and i'm there!
  23. *Conspiracy theory alert ahead* Now that Trump lost, China can release the cure, so things can go back to normal. They got him out of power, so business at the top can proceed as planned again.
  24. As if the situation will be better off later in the season.. At least they are showing consistency even for a top loved sport like skiing.
  25. I understand it is mostly a government decision and that the federation could do only so much. But still, it is a bad look for a country, that has a very good reputation in organizing big level sporting events, that they couldn't manage this situation. And it's not such a dire Covid situation in Norway like it is in other places. I am finding it hard to believe what the big issue is, other than the officials there not wanting to bother with all the logistics and measures. For a rich a$s country like them, setting up a bubble in 1 city, for 8 teams, should be a walk in the park... I wonder, if it's going to be a same thing with the upcoming ski-jumping and cross-country events in December and what will happen to them? Let's hope they can find another host. Germany, Netherlands, Poland could host with ease.
