  1. Congratulations to D'Amato, a deserved winner. But there is a something VERY suspicious here. Donatella, FIG's technical director, is Italian, I suspect she tampered with the results to have two Italians on the podium.
  2. How much more overscored will Americans be? Sunisa Lee, in special. She did not deserve bronze in the all-around, she did not deserve bronze today. Unbelievable.
  3. I came here to see this specific reaction and I am not disappointed! Congratulations! Amazing achievement!
  4. That's an awesome, and totally unexpected, medal for Canada! And Page finally has a well-deserved gold medal!
  5. A great final. Biles is beyond human, honestly. Her floor routine was absolutely fantastic! Even with mistakes on bars and vault (she should have received lower scores) her gold medal was deserved and a triumph she should be very proud of. Rebeca with another silver medal seems like a dream. There's nothing wrong about losing to the best gymnast ever. And I don't have anything positive to write about Sunisa Lee, so I'll just stop here.
  6. I feel like I can actually write something now. Congratulations to the for an excellent performance and to for a well-deserved silver medal. Italy was my pick for a bronze medal before the Games, but after the performances in qualification, I knew Brazil would have to settle for a bronze medal and we would have to, somehow, score more than China. and had a rough day, overall. The Chinese girls have some of the best bars and beam routines in the world, so, before the Games, it looked almost impossible for Brazil to beat them. However, they had big problems in some of their bars and beam routines today, and even floor was well behind what they could achieve. Our beam routines were not the best, and after Soares had to count a fall I thought it was all over, but then the Chinese girl fell twice and Brazil improved on floor and vault. was a huge surprise, as well as . Both Becky Downie and Ellie Black are strong, inspirational gymnasts and human beings! I wish both could walk away with a medal of their own, but I suspect Downie will get her medal in a few days and Black will keep going and probably snatch a medal in LA 2028. I'm also impressed with and Voinea is my top pick for a bronze medal on floor. I spent quite a long time away from this forum because I was mostly focusing on my Twitter/X account. But I've always cherished each and everyone of you (well, not really EVERYone, but you get the picture) and I'm happy to finally be able to live this moment. I've been a member here for 10+ years and I hope to see you guys for many more years to come.
  7. I'm barely alive at this point. I'm over the moon. There's nothing more I can write right now.
  8. That step Boheng took killed China's chances. That's a 0.3 deduction in execution.
  9. Oooh, a fall for Ruoteng. Now, that's interesting.
  10. China was always going to win the gold medal, no matter what Japan did. I'm very surprised with the US in third. Not exactly a great team, but they're having the meet of their lives.
  11. What a roller coaster this day has been. First and foremost, I'm in shock after France failed to qualify for any final at all, including team. I would never ever think this could be possible, but here we are. They did not deserve such fate and I'm sure they're trying to find answers, but sometimes things just don't go our way. Still, a heartbreaking outcome. qualifying for the all-around final is also a big shock, and with a number of potential medal chances is great to witness again. The team final will be a huge battle, and the fact that it's almost impossible to predict which countries will take silver and bronze will make the final super exciting. I'm very pleased with the results of the Brazilian girls and I sincerely hope that we are able to get a team medal. This will not be easy at all, but we have a chance!
  12. As expected, lots of shocking results. The biggest ones for me were Al-Soud not making the pommel horse final, and Tvorogal missing the horizontal bar final. Quite sad, also, because they were their countries' best-ever hopes for a medal in gymnastics. Yulo not being able to qualify for the parallel bars final is also a big surprise, as well as Mariano on the horizontal bar. Some of the qualifiers, though, are very special, especially Olfati on vault, Barajas on both parallel bars and horizontal bar, Georgiou on the horizontal bar, Karimi on floor, Benovic on vault, and basically everyone on the pommel horse (seriously, they are all special for one reason or another). I think we'll witness the first-ever medal (or medals) for and , and maybe or .
  13. What a choke for D'Almeida. Even if he reaches round of 8, he will have to face the #1 Korean. His medal chances are basically gone at this point.
  14. It left a sour taste in my mouth. Not the start I was expecting for the Games. I'm glad the situation was resolved, but everything from the exaggerated extra time, the last-minute goal, the fans rioting, the VAR call, the results changed after 2 hours... Terrible. I hope things improve from here.
  15. Next Law and Order episode should be about the referees here. True criminals. They allowed Argentina to play until they scored a goal. What a joke.
  16. The thing is: Germany has NOT officially qualified, because reallocation of quotas is only made official once every qualification event has finished. What we know is that, for sure, we are going to have one nation reallocated, and so far this spot goes to Germany, but if Germany qualifies through the European Championships, then Azerbaijan takes the reallocation quota. So, basically, we know that Germany will go to the Olympics no matter what, but qualifying through the European Championships would substantially change things.
  17. Yes. was guaranteed a group quota because they are the hosts, but they already qualified through the World Championships. The quota goes next to the best-ranked group at the World Championships, which is the group from . However, qualifying at the European Championships takes priority, so if finishes ahead of any other unqualified group (Azerbaijan, Poland, Greece, Finland, Hungary, Estonia, for example), then takes the continental quota. The reallocation will then go to the next best group at the World Championships, which would be . So, has to finish ahead of any unqualified nation to take the quota. has already qualified, but if they finish ahead of any unqualified nation, then takes the reallocation spot. is the only country that can have a bad day and still qualify if has a fantastic day.
  18. I'd say she's the favorite for a GOLD medal. It will be very difficult even for a Chinese girl to beat this score.
  19. Take the Americas qualification event for example: Brazil (already qualified in the group event) finished first, but the quota went to the second-highest group at the Pan Am Games, Mexico. If Poland wants to qualify, they need to be the best group among non-qualified nations at the European Championships. So, the only groups that can be ahead of Poland are: . Now, if is the best non-qualified group, then will get the reallocation spot through the World Championships. Either way, Germany has already qualified because they take the reallocation spot anyway, but if they get the quota at Euros, then the reallocation spot goes to Azerbaijan.
  20. Fun fact about Koo (as far as I know, a Korean name): this sounds just like a very common swearword in Portuguese, and there's NO WAY any Portuguese speaker can say Lucas Koo's last name out loud and not immediately blush or laugh out loud. No way.
  21. Oh, wow! Next step: Brazil hosts the 2028 Winter Youth Olympics!
  22. I'm in shock. Rest in power.
