  1. Weird how the American turned back for another go. Surely they could have argued that the first exchange was valid given the circumstance.
  2. Something weird just happened with the Team USA.
  3. Team GB throwing in a half pirouette. Could prove costly.
  4. 19th place (out of 28) for our girls could be a standout result of this Winter season (outside of alpine skiing of course).
  5. Staying ahead of Korea. Hell, Malec was butting shoulders with Parmakoski.
  6. Well, a certain Lithuanian song attracted buzz recently around here.
  7. Because they have no other athlete. Previously they had that Klobuczek person, but it appears she no longer competes (not like she would have qualified anyway).
  8. So Werloc finally knows how it feels to be an American juror (as in, purposely not entering an eligible song that could win)...
  9. Keep in mind that Thailand for example will not be able to enter another woman even if they wanted to. Andorra declining the second quota is a given (they may even decline them both).
  10. Ahlmann wins as a trailblazer. How about Kukuk & Mumbai? The hype is real!
  11. Six-way jump-off coming up in Doha... Ahlmann vs Kukuk vs Bruynseels vs Tovek vs Tebbel vs Robert
  12. Feels SO good to be watching live jumping again. It's been over a year I think. In case anyone wants to join, the 2nd round from Doha starts soon. https://www.clipmyhorse.tv/en_EU/live/7160/chi-al-shaqab
  13. Stacy Dragila and Lisa Misipeka send their regards.
  14. Was there some Belgian user recently? I'm not sure.
  15. Three Norwegians getting absolutely gassed.
  16. Ugh, if there is one thing I despise, it is that rule of defending champions getting an extra starting place in individual sports. Nobody would be missing the fifth Norwegian.
  17. Clean first run makes all the difference. Needs more of those.
  18. For a start, yes. Let's say they keep their time differences to a minimum and score something like 140, 141, 142. Once they lower their average to such values, next race (between the same five skiers) would award 112 ((140+141+142) / 3.75) points to the winner. Another cycle and the winner gets 91 pts. Another and it is 73, followed by 59, 48, 39 and so on before coming to 0.00, easily in a space of one Olympic cycle. The 3.75 divider makes all the magic.
  19. FIS can be tricked so easily. You just need the same five skiers contesting interval races again and again, while trying to keep time differences between themselves to a minimum. Eventually their FIS points could come as close to 0.00 as you'd like...
  20. Technically yes... But, there is always a but. For one thing, it is certainly weird how some of the borderline nations simply choose to skip events. Are they ignorant or what? Other thing, it is bizarre how simply entering multiple athletes, or sending them to World Cups, can give you so, so much more points irregardless of the skier's level of competitiveness. Why didn't Brazil spam points like Thailand or Serbia? So, there is always a possibility that FIS is not really sure about it themselves... And in that case, nobody can tell what happens. There are manyer examples of IFs interpretating their own rules in curious ways...
