  1. From some of the comments I've seen from people on socials regarding the Linekar saga, many seem to be missing the point. It's not about standing with a white male, middle-class millionaire who lost his job, it's about standing with someone who lost their job becuase they weren't allowed freedom of speech. He had a difference of political opinion to those above him, and unrightfully lost his job because of it. The BBC have shown themselves up big time, I can see this going on for weeks to come.
  2. How do you rate chances? We weren't in the best form in the qualis but played well towards the back end, we are also decently ranked so hopefully we can get into the WOQT.
  3. This is disheartening, hopefully phase 3 has a big ticket hall, somewhere around 5 million.
  4. As for festival of music, I'll go for and .
  5. I should be able to help, depending on how long it takes.
  6. Voted. Had one song as the outright favourite until right at the death where it got overtaken by 2 songs that proved themselves worthy. Most of the songs were very middle of the road/mediocre, and there were a ton of ballads.
  7. Tokyo Marathon March 5, 2023 Men's: Deso Gelmisa, Mohamed Esa, Tsegaye Kebede Getachew, Tadu Deme Abate Titus Kipruto, Vincent Raimoi, Brimin Misoi (Nyairo Dominic Omare missed out by 3 seconds) Cameron Levins Ichitaka Yamashita, Kenya Sonota, Suguru Osako, Hiroto Inoue, Kyohei Hosoya (Naoki Koyama missed out by 2 seconds) Stephen Kissa Women's: Rosemary Wanjiru Tsehay Gemechu, Ashete Bekere, Worknesh Edesa Betsy Saina, Lindsay Flanagan Mizuki Matsuda, Ai Hosoda, Kaori Morita
  8. First of the world marathon majors starts in around 5 minutes in the form of the Tokyo Marathon. On Eurosport Player/Discovery + in Europe, not sure about the rest of the world.
  9. Decided not to purchase anything this phase. Everything I wanted was gone, and what was left was either too expensive, outside of Paris or football which for me isn't worth going all the way to Paris to watch. Hospitality also not worth it for me. Hoping for better luck in phase 2.
  10. Only Beach Volleyball and Handball are on my list. Looks like I'll be waiting till round 2.
  11. Well, just got the email. My timeslot is 3rd-5th. I'll try scramble a pack the best I can, but from what I've seen there really is no hope. It looks as if a lot of people have jibbed it after Day 4 when the cheep tickets sold out. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there are way more than 7 million tickets available in the next phase. If someone could message me with what's left or reply on here then that'd be great.
  12. Hope to god this isn't true. Athletics is a different kettle of fish to swimming. Swimming has 4 different strokes which can be easily mastered by any talented swimmer, whereas with athletics it's almost impossible for a race walker to become a top level Hammer thrower. I hope the athletes and especially brodcasters and pundits call this out for what it is.
  13. Osaka Marathon February 26, 2023 Men's: Hailemaryam Kiros Victor Kiplangat Alphonse Felix Simbu Charles Karanja Kamau Stephen Mokoka Kazuya Nishiyama, Yohei Ikeda, Shohei Otsuka, Toshiki Sadakata, Koki Yoshioka, Yuki Kawauchi, Masaki Sakuda, Daisuke Doi, Yuta Koyama, Takeru Yamaguchi (Kento Nishi and Yugo Kashiwa missed out by 1 second) Merhawi Kesete Eyob Ghebrehiwet Faniel Omar Ait Chitachen Women's: Helen Bekele, Beyenu Degefa Momoko Watanabe, Misaki Nishida Lisa Weightman
  14. Ecuadorian Race Walking Championships February 25th 2023 Men's David Hurtado Women's No qualifiers
  15. Updated Men's section from last week's Seville Marathon, for some reason WA didn't post Men's at same time as Women's. @DnlI can officially confirm what @Joshsaid was true.
  16. Currently watching the Baltic Sea Darts Open on Viaplay.
  17. Depends how quickly they can get over this dispute + build the remaining venues. Late May - early June should be the target if they want to keep all their qualification events.
  18. Gonna be a pain for all the Olympic qualifiers to be rescheduled.
  19. https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1134075/african-games-2023-postponed-until-2024.
  20. Do you have anyone off the top of your head? The only ones I have so far are Zelimkhan Abakarov and Georgii Okorokov.
  21. Started this thread to see how many have switched since the war and to get a clearer view on the impact the ban has had on not just Russia but the nations their athletes have defected to. I'm mostly in the dark with this one, so will need some help collating names.
  22. Wow, not much choice left then. Tbh I expect it all to be topped back up for the single ticket phase, which is what I'm aiming for at this point. If I do get picked, I'll try and string a pack the best I can.
  23. How's it looking for Swimming, Handball, Mountain Biking, Table Tennis, Boxing, Rowing, Beach Volleyball and Canoe Slalom?
  24. At quick glance, it seems only the right qualification is needed. Although I'd expect the criteria for all B+ events is to have judges from multiple countries.
  25. The key to succeeding in all of this is to not give up. From what I've seen many people, particularly the French, have already given up and resigned to watching it at home after seeing the what was left 4 days into this phase. If you keep persevering and sticking through to the end you will most likely get what you want. The more people give up, the easier it is to get ahold of cheep tickets.
