  1. Woot! Can't believe they go again tomorrow. Next match will be tough, but doable.
  2. See you on Friday. Bonne chance. London repeat!
  3. Yeah, but it's not like the other draw was much easier (unless China beats Sweden). Canada also had one player out due to penalties and Sinclair wasn't playing at the end. I think Germany just out-sucked them.
  4. The Olympics site shows that Germany and Canada are on the same side of the bracket. So if both were to win their first match, they'd meet again in the semis. That doesn't make sense to me. Now go Kiwis!
  5. Wow, coming in I was just hopeful that Canada could tie the Aussies and get to the quarters. Now they go 3-0, beating the 2nd and 5th ranked teams. Of course their reward is a meeting with the 3rd ranked team in the first round. Kind of stupid.
  6. I made a mistake earlier. A tie would still give the group to Canada. But the way they're playing, maybe it doesn't matter who they face in the quarters.
  7. With Australia killing Zimbabwe, if Germany loses this I think they'll likely face the USA in the first round. I'm sure they don't want that.
  8. Of course if Germany loses, they could miss the quarters all together (but not likely).
  9. And as I type that, Canada scores.
  10. I'm sure Germany is aware of it as well, so I'm not expecting to see much push by either team in the second half. But a tie gives Canada 2nd in the group anyway. The way the games have worked out, that could mean any one of Sweden, Brazil or China. Not easy, but easier than France (probably).
  11. Another medal for Canada! China and Malaysia were very impressive. IMO, both NKorea and GB were overmarked so I don't think it should have been that close in the end. But it certainly made it exciting. But no medal in Judo and our ladies doubles are out. I don't even want Canada to win their soccer game (easier draw in the quarters if they lose).
  12. I wasn't wishing ill will towards the Norks, but they had to miss a dive completely in order to get the marks they deserved. Malaysia was very good today. The Chinese, like I said, could slip off the platform and still fall gracefully enough to get top marks. The British gave a good showing, too.
  13. Bronze for Canada! (Was expecting silver, though).
  14. So you have the Chinese, who can fall off the board and still get 9's and the North Koreans who apparently can do no wrong. Not much room left on that podium.
  15. Absolutely. Just asked my friend, "Who's judging this? Kim Jung Un?"
  16. Yeah ok. North Korea's divers were totally off sync yet get 9's for synchronization. Canadians are mirror images and get 8.5's.
  17. And then against #1 or #5 for that bronze. The road certainly isn't easy.
  18. Woot! AVF moves on to the quarters. A tough match coming, though.
  19. You'll just have to settle for all those medals in the pool instead.
  20. It's been a pretty good morning so far.
