  1. women's 55kg quota has to wait at least couple of days ! Wen Tzu-Yun was in comfortable position but she lost in the first round. which means only 30 participation points for her. 7080+30=7110 Jana Messerschmidt lost in the semifinal and will fight for bronze later. if she wins the bronze that will be 570 pts for her 5677.5+570=6247.5 that means she will be 862.5 behind the TPE girl and still can qualify by winning the gold in Euro. but if she loses the bronze she will be down 982.5 pts . that's still possible in Euro but only if more than 32 athletes enter in her weight ! with less than that the max she can get is 930.
  2. his first round "bye" will be counted as a win. so he has 60 more points. while for Figueira it won't be counted. you have to win your 2nd round match for that, (for those 60 extra pts) Figueira didn't
  3. I think Kumizaki can't beat Grande of Peru for the 1st Pan-Am female quota, but she has a very good chance for the last quote but that will depend on Africa too. the gender of last Pan-Am quota will be decided by Africa ! if a boy qualifies from Africa, then Pan-Am qualifier will be a girl and that quota will go to Kumizaki. remember they award the continental quotas after the Paris event, so we have to wait a long time for that.
  4. btw technically it's not over yet, El Sawy still can punch the ref to the face and get disqualified (and receive 0 points) but I assume that's not a possibility I think El Sawy was guaranteed a place even if he wouldn't make it here, he was the best ranked African male athlete. but with this, he opened the door for another male Egyptian Karateka to qualify in another weight. but in the continent of America, they have another way to determine their continental places, only Pan American Games gold medal winners has a chance and unfortunately for Figueira he didn't win the gold in Peru back in 2019.
  5. Italy lost by Hantei to Jordan so that's it Ali El-Sawy is 100% qualified for Tokyo, no matter what happens in the rest of the competition. even if he finishes 5th. Figueira has to prepare himself for the last chance qualifier in France, same as our guys in this weight
  6. El Sawy is in the semifinal now. by my calculation if that Italy guy who beat Figueira makes it to the final. Figueira will have a chance in the repechage, but if Italy doesn't Egypt is already qualified.
  7. Vinicius Figueira just lost to Italy ! that can be very very costly for him
  8. guys, you know we have live stream this time ,right ? in case you don't check this channel, BRA is on Tatami 1, EGY on Tatami 2 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbcNH3k6L3wG9VWD5t05M1g
  9. if Egypt wins the gold he is 100% qualified. because Brazil can't win more than the bronze. but silver for Egypt and bronze for Brazil will qualify Brazil. silver for Egypt and 5th place for Brazil will qualify Egypt (most probably, have to do the calculation) but first let's see if they both can reach the semifinal or not.
  10. they will meet in the semifinal if they win the the rest of their matches, Brazil has something like 400pts advantage. so your guy can't afford losing early. he has to go all the way to the final and he just beat one of the Iranians in the table quite easily
  11. sure but it's just started. here is the draw https://www.sportdata.org/wkf/set-online/popup_mitschrift_main.php?popup_action=mitschriftcatxml&catid=44&verid=468
  12. women's 50kg Sara Bahmanyar made it to the bronze medal match while both Hubrich and Plank are out. which means Sara Bahmanyar is now secured a spot in Tokyo this will be the 4th quota in Karate for Iran. we still have a slim chance for the 5th quota but I believe we will finish with 4 through the ranking. that's quite a good result considering how competitive is this sport around the world.
  13. Angelo Crescenzo made it the bronze medal match while Eray Samdan lost to Japan and got eliminated early. I can say that Angelo Crescenzo is now 100% qualified.
  14. if you feel smart, just try to figure out how things work with ICF qualification system, you won't feel smart anymore I'm somehow glad we are not good in this sport and I don't have to go through all these weird things, Weightlifting was enough for me.
  15. taking a look at what's important today: women's Kata: we already know who is qualified Sandra Sanchez - 11452.5 Q Viviana Bottaro - 7275 Q Grace Lau - 6300 Q Sakura Kokumai - 5887.5 Q men's 60kg: it's between Italy and Turkey, if Crescenzo scores big today (and Sunday) and widens the gap to more than 1000pts he can finish the job today but that's a bit unlikely. I assume that quota will go to the European Championship Darkhan Assadilov - 10387.5 Q Angelo Crescenzo - 8100 Eray Samdan - 7342.5 women's 50kg, Bahmanyar has to keep the distance, if AUT or GER manage to cut it to less than 1000pts, they can make it by winning the gold in Euro. Serap Ozcelik - 10792.5 Q Sara Bahmanyar - 5647.5 Bettina Plank - 4507.5 Shara Hubrich - 4267.5 men's 67kg, 2 non-European athletes are fighting for the quota. highly possible to know the name of the qualified athlete by the end of the day Steven Dacosta - 7950 Q Vinicius Figueira - 6832.5 Ali El-Sawy - 6472.5 women's 55kg, TPE has 1400pts lead, (while 1000pts will be enough) very likely to qualify today Anzhelika Terliuga - 9022.5 Q Wen Tzu-Yun - 7080 Jana Messerschmidt - 5677.5 men's 75kg, Horuna's biggest opponent is non-European, Horuna can qualify today if he gets a better result than Scott. Bahman Askari - 9262.5 Q Luigi Busa - 6750 Q Rafael Aghayev - 6255 Q Stanislav Horuna - 5137.5 Thomas Scott - 5047.5 Erman Eltemur - 3712.5 Gabor Harspataki - 3232.5
  16. I wonder if the start list is final and complete https://siwidata.com/canoe123/live?SessionKey=rcat.1939 we were supposed to have an entry in women's K1. but this list only shows 4 athletes from THA and KAZ
  17. apparently 31 May but I'm not sure it will also take few days to ask each NOC to remove the rest of its weightlifters (those like China with more than 4 quotas) I think we will have the final list somewhere in first or 2nd week of June.
  18. FINALLY after 3 weeks IWF updates the qualification ranking with the European Championship results. at this rate he will have the current ranking in the 3rd week of May
  19. here are the favorites for each weight based on the entry list, I divide them to level 1 and level 2. Seeds for Greco, from these guys I think only Kakhelashvili has a good chance to qualify. for most of these guys that's mission impossible. 60: Toro Lizatovic 67: Bakhshilloev Ashu 77: Rivas Galkinas 87: Sunil Avendano 97: Kakhelashvili Omarov 130: Perez Coon I already wrote my predictions about the Greco, Greco is much more unpredictable. I won't be surprised to see some new names in the final. and I really think some of those European wrestlers will regret competing in Poland very close to this competition.
  20. @Laraja I was actually writing that here are top 2 seeds in each weight based on this entry list. remember this list is NOT final and a last minute change is possible even though unlikely. top 2 seeds will be separated in the draw and will have a bye in the first round if possible. 57: Bekhbayar Andreu 65: Kilicsallayan Skriabin 74: Kuramagomedov Demirtas 86: Ramos Torreblanca 97: Conyedo Saritov 125: Baran Ramonov here are the favorites for each weight based on the entry list, I divide them to level 1 and level 2. Freestyle 57: Edisherashvili Andreyeu Andreu Higuchi Bekhbayar === Bujiashvili Markovych Smanbekov 65: Khinchegashvili Gadzhiev Oliver Bekbulatov === Skriabin Kilicsallayan Ovhanesian 74: Kadzimahamedau Tsabolov Salkazanov Demirtas === Umarpashaev Budazhapov Mikhaylov 86: (only one level in this weight) Abakarov Magamev Aminashvili Torreblanca Friev Dudarov Ianulov Baranowski Makoev 97: Baran Saritov Andriitsev === Bataev Thiele Conyedo Ceban 125: Kozyrev Baran I can't see anybody else above the rest.
  21. Entries for the last chance qualifier in Bulgaria https://uww.org/article/world-olympic-games-qualifier-entries
  22. Entries for the Asian/Oceania qualifiers in Japan https://worldrowing.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Entries-by-BoatName-AOOPQR-Tokyo_22.04.2021-at-09.00-pm-CET.pdf only 1 guy from Vanuatu is participating from Oceania !
  23. start list for the K1 event in Portugal. the last worldwide event for the Olympic ranking https://www.sportdata.org/wkf/set-online/veranstaltung_info_main.php?active_menu=calendar&vernr=468&ver_info_action=catnennlist#a_eventheadend and only this time WKF is going to broadcast all preliminary round matches live on youtube
  24. what 7 countries you have to qualify in the XD ? + top 5+1 in the ranking ( ??) in that case, that will open up 4 more quotas for the ranking (AUS/KOR/FRA/ROU) and yes there will be 6 to qualify btw Samsonov didn't participate in the world qualifier and also the European qualifier. I wonder if the grandpa is OK. maybe they just wanted to give 2 chances to other Belorussian players, (as they knew Samsonov will qualify via ranking)
  25. we had 86 quotas available for male players 48 for teams + 22 continental events + 1 wild card + 4 World Qualifiers = 75 11 quotas are left for mixed double players + ranking. Cuba and Canada already used two of those quotas (since they are using players who didn't qualify in singles) which means maximum 9 will qualify through ranking. but we still don't know 7 of qualified teams in mixed doubles, so it will be minimum 2 and maximum 9 players through the ranking. depends on those 7 remaining mixed doubles teams. at the moment only Pitchford and Aruna are 100% guaranteed a place in Tokyo
