  1. That is poor sport administration skills and carelessness that is somewhat common in Southeast Asian countries. Still can't believe that Indonesia would screwed up its athletes' opportunity to compete in a last chance tournament due to clerical mistakes.
  2. I hope the 5x5 experience of the American players will help them in this tournament in some shape or form. I know that the American female players may not play much of the 3x3 game as the other contenders in this qualification tournament, but hopefully their skills and technique will be enough to guide them through an Olympic berth.
  3. Question for Hungarian fans and other swimming fans as well. Considering her times at the European Championships, how well you think Hosszu will do at the Olympics? Would she able to improve her time that is good enough to win gold medals again?
  4. I agree that weightlifting should be ousted from the Olympics just for the rampant PED usage and its corrupt governing body. I don't care if the countries that I root for lose their medals over this, integrity counts more to me than rooting interest.
  5. I think covid is a possible factor for the underperformance of Southeast Asian countries. The infection rate has been increasing in the past couple of months in that region, which you have to think limits the amount of hours/days that the athletes could go and practice at their facilities. They might have days where they can't get out of the house and have to stay home instead because of government order for quarantine purposes. Saying that, Chinese Taipei deserves kudos for getting four quotas despite having to travel far. And in someway it's not surprising, considering how well that country has taken care of the pandemic since the outbreak.
  6. I am a bit surprised that the Cambodian athlete who qualified in the +67 kg category at Rio is not participating in this qualifying tournament.
  7. As someone who follows Thai sports, I won't be surprise if Harnsujin fails to qualify for the Olympics as she can be inconsistent. For instance, several months after winning the world championships, she only won bronze in the 2019 South East Asian Games. Harnsujin has not done well in other tournaments like the grand prix, etc. Considering the Iranian is not a slouch and had some success in the 49 kg category, she could easily "upset" Harnsujin. Also factoring in the pandemic, Harnsujin's preparation might not be up to par. If you follow Thailand and their performances in all sports, you would realize that Panipak Wongpattanakit is one of the country's few consistent amateur/professional athletes. Thai athletes are very inconsistent.
