  1. plus 1972 but that was special circumstances.
  2. USA filed protest.
  3. I think it should.
  4. Not to rub anything in but foil was maybe my favorite event in 2024. You did have Klaus Dibiasi, 68-72-76.
  5. On the World feed, they never mentioned the DQ or the reinstatement. Didn't watch the USA broadcast, but I'm sure they were all over this story.
  6. Hull advanced.
  7. Both Strachan and Long have a small q.
  8. She's the last time qualifier. Will she run?
  9. And Rajindra Campbell as well - and a signing bonus of $500,000 its reported.
  10. Thankfully, is getting full field event feeds.
  11. You're not. Said as much on US TV.
  12. Ato went on to say, hey this isn't some local meet in your back yard.
  13. On US TV, Ato Bolden says it's the thing that gives coaches lots of gray hairs.
  14. Bayi did win CG gold in 1500 in 1974, beating John Walker, both beaking the WR but almost certain he did not complete at 1983 WC.
  15. Two passings of note in North America. Dave Johnson, age 82, baseball, longtime 2nd baseman for Baltimore Orioles and later Atlanta Braves, World Series champion in as a player in 1966 and 1970, then as a manager he won World Series with New York Mets in 1986. He later managed the US Olympic baseball squad that won the bronze medal at 2008 Olympics. Ken Dryden, age 78, goaltender for the Montreal Canadiens throughout the 1970s and was on 6 Stanley Cup winning teams. He also played for Team Canada in the 1960s and 1970s, but he didn't get to the Olympics with the Canadian team in 1968. Was also goaltender for Canada in the 1972 Summit Series, and then later in life he was a MP in Canada's House of Commons.
  16. So now, 36 years later, Park Si-Hun gifts the 1988 gold medal to Roy Jones Jr. https://sports.yahoo.com/boxing/article/roy-jones-jr-brought-to-tears-after-park-si-hun-gifts-gold-medal-decades-after-1988-olympic-controversy-201110152.html
  17. Eileen Gu involved in 'terrible accident' in training: report | Fox News Skier Eileen Gu injured in ‘very terrible accident’ while training | South China Morning Post
  18. That's pretty much how I feel. They also made it clear there won't sell names for the Coliseum, Rose Bowl and Dodger Stadium. As an aside, I remember in 1984, the torch relay was funded/organized through corporate sponsorships and that didn't sit well with the Greeks. Also, anyone could run 1 KM leg on the relay if they donated $3000 to certain designated charities.
  19. Douglas’ leg was the difference from last year. And Walsh and Huske had the two fastest reaction times of anyone else in the field — .10 and .05. A little too close for my comfort when you’re 3 seconds ahead, but it worked. Correction - Anna Elendt had a .08 and Hirai for Japan had a .00. Still though, faster reaction times for Walsh and Huske from last year. And still, why can Smith beat McKewon only on relays?
  20. I know all about the nolympicsla (and Jules Boykoff) and their views. I had not seen someone demand cancellation of the Games because they believe Trump will turn them into something worse than 1936.
  21. I've only seen people like right-wing provocateur Charlie Kirk and Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) who have demanded the Games been taken away from Los Angeles. This is the first liberal view I've seen.
  22. Cancel the 2028 L.A. Summer Olympics https://share.google/km859YR5uuzc4J8M5 Not my viewpoint, mind you.
  23. The late afternoon/early evening start times for athletics and swimming is to accommodate USA East Coast prime time. They don't want those events starting at 11:00/midnight in New York. It was the same way in 1984.
