At least Birrell lived most of her life there and Joint has an Australian parent. Even Saville at least eventually married an Aussie even though when she first got citizenship it was a total joke.
 
Tomljanovic and Kasatkina playing for Australia is so weird. Also it's quite pathetic a country like Australia, with so many resources for tennis, has to keep naturalizing players because they can't produce their own talents...

Australia can produce talented players, but they get bored of tennis and prefer to retire being N1

Hi, I am sorry I was unexpectedly busy in the recent period, but if I am willing to host Annual addition with Finale mid May if that is still okay with you guys.

As some of you pointed out, there are some alternatives to one person hosting in a "real" venue.
 
Before @Cobi volunteered, I was thinking maybe we could use his template to collect the votes in a spreadsheet hosted in the cloud.
Then 2-3 could verify validate the forms are complete (including reserves), and said persons (or another volunteers) could also help with trnasforming the votes into templates/scoreboards.
 
I myself could research if there's a somewhat easy form to make/transform the info into GIF or dinamic templates; in any case I also volunteer to help.
 
As @Sindo said, we should look for the bright part. Maybe this could be the start of a new stage for TISC.

Like Sindo said, post Olympic year is always tough as nothing really happens so there's no real motivation for people to be on the forum so the lack of action should probably be expected. 
 
Regarding the prediction contests, if people are OK with it I don't mind stepping up and hosting them in Wumo's absence. I might need some help with the table templates and all that technical stuff but other than that I should be all good. 

Don't be so negative We have always had a drop of interest in the post-Olympic year. I'm sure things will get better next year with the Winter Olympics and the start of 2028 Olympics qualifications.
 
As for TISC and Prediction Contests, this is the risk when something relies too much on one single person, but we can't force them to keep doing that forever, especially because it's a hobby for them and not a job.
 
I think a low profile TISC is possible even without @OlympicIRL's help, let me know if you need some help with that!

I think we can say that unfortunately Totallympics is going to die soon, no TISC, no prediction contests, low amount of posts and even lower number of users, some regular of them are MIA since Paris 24 or even before.... It was good 15 years for me in this community, but nothing cant last forever 
 
As for me, I'm not able to host TISC either, due to lack of time and motivation, despite hosting this in past, during covid times at their peak....

When I hosted back in 2023 I created an Excel template where I only had to input the votes of the country and the running order and both the voting templates and the scoreboard were automatically generated. I think I still have the file on my computer, in case it helps. Unfortunately, I don't have time to host the contest this year, but I can help with that part if needed.

I know the forum is in a rather dark timeline currently with not much engagement and activity, but I never imagined a time when we won't be having a song contest.  I too have opted in and out of contests throughout the years, but it was always a given, that twice a year there will be TISC. Right, so Kasatkina doesn't even live in Australia let alone marrying a local like Gavrilova or Gajdosova and she doesn't really need the money which was Tomljanovic's reason. Guess permanent residency isn't required when you're a celebrity either?

This format of having qualifiers throughout the year definitely resulted in a lot of surprising results as many teams with big players are missing them, but I don't think anyone has suffered as much in recent years as Croatia! Perhaps it is a lack of depth?
 
Obviously with Bogdanovic, Saric, and Zubac, they would not struggle in qualifiers. Still, other teams have the same issues (especially in weeks when EuroLeague players could not play), but are able to manage to qualify with their B/C teams. Of course they were also unlucky to be in the group with Cyprus, a weak host/automatic qualifier!

The very talented 17 yo Konstantinos Karetsas announced he will play for his parents' country  instead of his birth country 
 
The Belgians do not seem happy but as a Greek, we have been in that position many times with dual citizens so it is nice for it to work in our favour sometimes too 
 
I mean in basketball we could have Vezenkov but instead he chooses to play for his parents' country , despite never living there, when with Greece he would qualify for major tournaments and be one of our starting players, and for Bulgaria they rarely qualify for anything...

Not the way I wanted Karalis to win his first major gold medal, and winning with only 5.90m is a bit disappointing but I guess I shouldn't complain
