  1. And watching Artistic Swimming or Ice Dancing you can get impressed with the choreo and the artistic elements... Im just still trying to understand Kata. All seemed the same, all doing the same... why someone won? Cause they shouted more? It was veeeery weird

Not that Kumite was any better. I failed to understand that too.

Karate had it chance and it fumbled the bag pretty hard. Almost as hard as Breaking.

Yes, that would be great... I don't really understand the need for secrecy neither.

IIRC, 17 'disciplines' (in IOC jargon) were proposed for LA, but i was never revealed which ones.

Athletics probably tried with Cross Country; Handball for sure proposed Beach Handball, Gymnastics probably tried with Tumbling and Acrobatic, Swimming with High Diving and Archery with Compound

  3. - I would love for a Mountain Running event in the Mountain Bike course.

    - Freestyle 1500m series are long and boring. I would remove the event and change it to a Open Waters short event, even maybe a relay? 4x200 should be a direct final with the best 8 teams.

    - Mixed duet in Artistic Swimming should be in LA. And also Men's Rhytmic Gymnastics is so needed. Same for Women's Grecorroman. If sports can't have parity can't be in the olympics, that's my take.

    - I wouldn't be mad if they changed Boxing for Kickboxing.

    - Cricket and Baseball/Softball should be a 10 team tournament at least, and part of the core programme in the Olympics.

    - Karate was the most boring event in Tokyo, is good out of the Olympic Programme. If another contact sport is wanted, Wushu is the correct option.

    - I don't mind each host selecting some events, but to an extent. Maybe just events, and not whole sports? IDK. I live with fear of Brisbane choosing Netball and that weird version of Rugby only them play.

    - Men's football should be down to 12 teams.

    - I want that Sailing Off-Shore event they wanted for Paris back. Find a way to work around it, but it sounded amazing.

    - I'm okay with Ligthweight-Rowing dissapearing. But they shound change it for Coastal Rowing instead.

    - I want a long distance Canoe/Kayak event.

    - 4x400 mixed in Athletics doesnt work. I would rather it change for a Medley Distance Relay or something among the lines. Also, Women's 400 Hurdles need higher hurdles, they are to low and it isnt a challenge for athletes anymore. It's just basically 400m 2.0.

    - Out with Equestrian. It's 2024, no need to put animals through it. And why is the best event (cross country race) not an individual event?

That's all that I can think about.

The only way this relay should be allowed to stay is if the 20k is discontinued and replaced with the 50k. Now that would be awesome, since race walking is a sport for long distances and 20k is too short...

50km didn't have half the entertainment this relay offers AND I WILL DIE ON THAT HILL.

Also, the level in 50km was mediocre at best... :ESP Marc Tur almost being an olympic medallist in Tokio20 was a joke lmao

  5. Kind of a stupid post and I hope nobody gets ofended by it, but... as a basque person I always dream... What would our National Team for the games be if we where independent? Well, this is the answer.

:BAS (Fictional) BASQUE TEAM FOR PARIS 2024 :BAS

    ATHLETICS - 2m+2w

    · Asier Martínez (110 hurdles)

    · John Cabang (110 hurdles)

    · Tessy Ebosele (Long Jump)

    · Majida Mayouf (Marathon)

    BADMINTON - 1w

    · Clara Azurmendi (Women's singles)

She wont be going to Paris cause ESP has an athlete before her at the ranking, but she's in qualifying position.

    BOXING - 1m

    · Oier Ibarretxe (-63.5kg)

    CANOE SLALOM - 1m+2w

    · Pau Echaniz (K1 & cross)

    · Miren Lazcano (C1 & cross)

    · Maialen Chourraut (K1 & cross)

    CANOE SPRINT - 1w

    · Begoña Lazkano (K1 500m)

    CYCLING - 2m+1w

    · Oier Lazkano (Road & TT)

    · Alex Aramburu (Road)

    · Ane Santesteban (Road & TT)

    GOLF - 2M+1W

    · Jon Rham

    · Adrián Otaegi

    · Carlota Ciganda

Adrián wont be in Paris due to having other spaniards in front of him, but he's in qualifying places.

    JUDO - 1W

    · Ariane Toro (-52kg)

    ROWING - 1w

    · Virginia Díaz (Women's Skiff)

    SKATE - 1M+1W

    · Alain Kortabitarte (Men's Park)

    · Naia Laso (Women's Park)

    SURFING - 2M+2W

    · Andy Criere

    · Joan Duru

    · Nadia Erostarbe

    · Janire González-Etxabarri

    SWIMMING - 1M+1W

    · Jon Osa (100m backstroke)

    · Nahia Garrido (200m backstroke)

We have no standars so I guess that this two would be our Universality quota recipients.

    TAEKWONDO - 1M

    · Jon Andoni Cintado (-80kg)

He wont be in the games cause Spain couldnt send anymore athletes to the final qualifier. But if he could compete, I think he qualifies.

    TOTAL: 27 ATHLETES (13 men + 14 women)

19 of those would be in Paris representing :ESP, one representing :FRA, one representing :PHI and six that don't get to go.

Other :BAS athletes that would had slim chances to qualify:

ATHLETICS: Abdelaziz Merzoughi, a moroccoan inmigrant, live his young years until he was over 18 in a center on the basque country. He cretidts the start of his running career thanks to a basque coach. He probably would be representing the basque country. He has the olympic standar for the Men's Marathon.

BASKER 3X3: Both France and Spain have a basque athlete in their olympic teams. Qualifying is hard but with the level of some basque 5x5 players, not impossible.

CANOE SPRINT: Iñigo Peña in men's K1 1000

    CANOE SLALOM: Men's C1 quota.

CYCLING: A third mal quota or a second women's quota could perfectly happend, but I went prudent.

ROWING: nother boat through the European qualifier, due to some of our rowers level, it could happend.

    TAEKWONDO: Jone Magdaleno in -62kg

& other posible athletes from the basque diaspora round the world.

    MEDAL CHANCES?

Well, we have them: Jon Rham in Golf, Ariane Toro in Judo, the Slalom team and sligth chances for the surfers and Naia Laso in skate.

    My prediction? 0 medals, sadly.
