  1. This is pure madness, the conditions are ruining this event.
  2. Maybe it's done by the same Slovak team who directed the shooting broadcast in Tokyo. Oh wait, no, in that case the TV graphics wouldn't work.
  3. This can still be an exciting race... for the silver and bronze medals.
  4. Looks like the Czechs are ready to join Hungarian ski jumping. This is how our largest ski jumping hill looks like:
  5. I get the idea behind why the normal hill event exists, but this is the one competition with a long history that I would remove from the Games. It just seems so pointless, this isn't "real" ski jumping, the sport has moved past this a long time ago. They should have dropped it when the women's event was added, that way the sport would have one male and one female individual event, equality achieved.
  6. What's the forecast for tomorrow? The second training had a one hour delay, and now the third training was cancelled, so I am afraid about that I will wake up at 4am for nothing.
  7. For what it's worth, she can actually speak some Hungarian. (Which is more than what we can say about John-Henry Krueger, who might win a medal for us in Short Track.)
  8. I have never attended winter sport events, does that actually help what it's that cold and windy?
  9. I wonder if there would be any spectators under these circumstances even without COVID. It must be almost unbearably cold for everyone there, not just for the athletes.
  10. This is my plan for tomorrow (E1: Eurosport 1; E2: Eurosport 2; M4: M4 Sport) Live 08:30-09:30 Cross-Country (E1) 09:30-10:00 Speed Skating (E2) 10:00-11:30 Biathlon (E1) 11:30-12:00 Ski Jumping (E1) 12:00-14:40 Short Track (M4) 14:40-15:00 Luge (E2) Live on second monitor (may rewatch them later) 10:00-11:10 Speed Skating (E2) 12:00-12:30 Ski Jumping (E1) 12:30-14:10 Moguls (E2) 14:10-14:40 Luge (E2) Events that I will watch sometimes later delayed 02:00-04:00 Curling (E1) 07:00-09:00 Curling (E2) 07:25-08:30 Ski Jumping (E1) 12:30-13:30 Ski Jumping (E1)
  11. I like the small cauldron, it's perfect for a Winter Games, and it will be very memorable.
  12. Now that's a nice surprise, I didn't expect to hear Hungarian Dances at an Olympic Opening Ceremony.
  13. It's ridiculous and shameful for the sport that this kind of a result is possible when supposedly two of the Top5 teams are playing. IOC shouldn't have expanded the tournament to 10 teams, there is no sign of improvement, and I say this as someone whose country would benefit from another increase because Hungary would likely be here in a 12 teams tournament. Even women's water polo is doing much, much better.
  14. They have to remind viewers what snowfall looks like because they sure won't see any during these Winter Games.
  15. Btw, it still feels strange to me that Norway is predicted to have 20+ gold medals. That would be by far the most any nation has ever won at a single WOG and they aren't even the hosts. It would be kinda historic if they will achieve this level of success.
  16. AP is so pro-American that even one of the predicted Hungarian medals is American.
  17. Something regarding the opening ceremony popped up in my head, but this would be better suited for the mixed zone, not Beijing 2022, because it's more of a general question: "Who would lit the cauldron if your country would host the Summer/Winter Games?" There are a very small number of countries that will ever host the Games, so it would be interesting to see what the users from less wealthy countries think, who are their most respected athletes who would lit the cauldron.
  18. Shaoang Liu officially got the green light to compete. he will travel to Beijing on Wednesday.
  19. Sára Pónya (Cross-Country) had a positive test, so did the Hungarian coach, they aren't travel to Beijing... The good news for us is that Shaoang Liu only had negative tests since he tested positive, there's a good chance that he can compete on Day 1.
  20. We had another positive COVID test yesterday in our Short Track team, this time it's Alex Varnyú. This is turning into a nightmare right before the Games.
  21. That World Championships in Doha will be a joke, no one will take it seriously when it's so close to the Olympics. I guess this is good news for the 2022 Aquatics ECh, which will now be the main event this year.
