  1. Great weekend for us, another medal for Kasza (bronze), Kardos with a 4th place, and all the 4 Hungarians are in the Top10. There can be a fierce competition among the Hungarian pentathletes for the two Hungarian quotas.
  2. To present what I am talking about, the Top5 non-G20 countries at the last 5 Summer Games: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 2000 8th, 12 10th, 11 11th, 11 13th, 8 14th, 6 2004 11th, 9 12th, 8 13th, 8 14th, 8 15th, 6 2008 11th, 7 12th, 7 13th, 6 14th, 5 15th, 5 2012 10th, 8 12th, 7 13th, 6 14th, 6 15th, 5 2016 11th, 8 12th, 8 14th, 7 15th, 6 16th, 6 You don't have to fix the medal table to see which are the best "second tier" nations at the Games. And then you can have a third tier for even smaller nations. Sure, some countries have it easier because they can collect more medals in athletics or swimming, but that has been always "part of the game", it's fundamentally part of the Olympics.
  3. I think it's impossible to compare countries like the US or China to smaller ones like us no matter what kind of math you are using, so it's better to just look up how countries of similar importance on the global scale are doing at the Games. Like, for the rivals on the medal table should be for example, in other words, non-G20 countries with the population of somewhere between 40 and 5 million. That way I can see that we beat all the non-G20 countries in 2012, which effectively makes us the most successful smaller, "less important" nation at that Summer Games and that gives me a better idea of how well we did.
  4. The two songs from that were closest to be selected for TISC Annual this year. Poor Bohemian Betyars, this is the second year where they were really close. I am sure they will get their moment to shine at TISC eventually.
  5. I would say that she still has a chance, she might not even need good results at the last two event if the reallocations will be favorable for her.
  6. Before the World Cup Final and the WCh, these are the nations who would get quotas from the Olympic ranking in the women's competition: And the next 5 spots in case of reallocation:
  7. Muszukajev had to withdrew from the ECh because he got COVID. There goes our only medal chance in men's freestyle.
  8. As I don't know that much about shooting, I am just going with the ranking leader, Valarivan. And I hope Dénes will qualify, Péni needs her in the mixed team.
  9. London because it felt like such a triumph for Hungary after Beijing. We took a huge hit with Beijing, and I was very concerned about that this might become the new normal for Hungary at the Games, but we were back on track with London.
  10. Congrats to everyone on the podium, this was a competitive edition indeed. I am more than pleased about our 74 points and 17th place, I feel like this was the best case scenario for us this year. And I think I already know what I will submit for Open, it's going to be something that we haven't seen from Hungary in a long time.
  11. I have a feeling that it's a tie-breaker for the first time ever for the first place.
  12. Meanwhile I just realized that it's the 3rd team medal for me in 4 contests. Somehow I always get the right teammates. Thanks, !
  13. I must say that since I joined, this is the least surprised I have been about how the top of the scoreboard is shaping up the be. Which is in a way surprising, this time TISC is surprisingly predictable.
  14. now has more points than what they got in the previous two editions, which says a lot because they were Top2 both times.

  17. A little bit of fun fact: this is the first time Hungary gave points to Canada since I joined TISC.
