  1. Yeah, I think that's how it works. The federation has to choose which quota they reject because they can't have 7 athlete quotas, and they will obviously choose K1, not K2, so the K1 quota gets reallocated to the next best placed unqualified athlete.
  2. I mean, this is why I said that Budapest is a small city. We have a large course for the big annual marathon but you only need to close down the city for one day on Sunday for that. Here you have to close it down for multiple days and the city literally can't function during that. Budapest isn't Paris or London, you would have to close down all the major inner roads during the weekday to have a larger course for this and people need those roads to work and live their lives.
  3. Yeah, in men's K4 is the only boat that benefited from the continental quotas.
  4. We will have 4 finals tomorrow in Olympic events, here are the athletes in them who already won quotas: Men's C1 1000m none, this is the first men's canoe Olympic final here Men's K1 1000m none, as you would expect there isn't really an overlap between this event and the K4 500m Women's K1 500m Csipes Carrington Novakovic So this means that the 6 other athletes in Final A already won the athlete quotas. Women's C2 500m Cirilo Duboys Jacome So it's already guaranteed that Jensen will win an athlete quota in C1 due to the inevitable double-up. If both Spain and Cuba finish inside the Top8, Luzan wins a C1 quota. If all of Spain, Cuba and Ukraine finish inside the Top8, Borowska wins a C1 quota.
  5. You can keep one athlete quota if your other athlete in the K2 boat wasn't in the K4 boat. So you would have 5 athlete quotas and you can compete for the 6th in K1.

  10. Kopasz works better with Nádas, they won everything last year. I can see Varga competing with someone else in a K2 boat, if he finds the right pair we can potentially win two medals in men's K2 in Paris.
  11. Yesss, finally the boys did it! We waited a long time for this performance in men's K4, great silver! out, the rest of the boats qualify to Paris.
  12. Terrible, just an absolutely terrible start from our girls, they had no chance whatsoever to win a medal after that. They really need to get their shit together for Paris because this is unacceptable. beats , there goes the Polish dominance out of the window in women's K4. Carrington is coming for all the gold medals in the Olympic events.

  14. Everyone is getting high scores. We might be closer to the quota places than anticipated, but I think we are still very far from it. We have improved in RG a lot in the past few years, but we aren't there yet. Maybe in LA.
  15. Kopasz wins K1 500, proving that he would likely win a medal here in K1 1000 if we could have two boats like at the Games.
  16. Yeah, you are right. I didn't go down that rabbit hole, but yeah, some nations already secured more quotas in K1. It's better to just wait for the results instead of calculating the potential outcomes.
  17. Yes. In fact, you can have two boats in K1 and K2, just like in Tokyo.
  18. Anyway, I didn't expect that I will be more nervous during our women's semi than our men's.... I don't like what I am seeing in women's kayak, even with the return of two Olympic champions, Csipes and Hadvina, our K4 boat is still too weak to fight for a medal, let alone for the gold. I can accept that we won't dominate WK4 forever, but something most be wrong here because we shouldn't be this weak with Csipes and Hadvina on board. Do we seriously need Kozák to save us after her second pregnancy? Not a good look for the next generation in women's kayak in Hungary....
  19. Technically you do have chances to qualify in C1/C2/K1/K2. In reality, we will see what happens when you will focus on K2 to salvage your quota chances.
  20. 21. Yeah, my guess is that Poland is the weakest European boat in the final. But you can never know in K4.
  22. So, here's where we stand in men's K4. will fight for 7 spots, 1 boat will miss Paris. already qualified as the only non-European boat in the A final. v will fight for the Asian quota in the B final. qualified as the only American boat in the Top18.
  23. to the final. and are out, they won't qualify for Paris. Disaster for Czechoslovakia.
  24. qualify to the men's K4 final. There will likely be 2 continents in the final, which means that the last, 9th placed team in Final A will miss Paris. This also means that already qualified for Paris. The other 8 European boats will have to fight for 7 places.
