  1. Canada couldn't win against the winless Australia and must now defeat the undefeated Italy...
  2. Assuming the order of these 5 nations remains unchanged in each event, should win by 3 points.
  3. One of the quieter days for Canada on the medal hunt. Our best chance will be in speed skating and even then it's far from guaranteed. Keep an eye out in men's downhill alpine skiing where we might surprise plus there is always hope in women's snowboard slopestyle and even women's moguls if you are really hoping. If we can score two more victories in curling there's a chance we can qualify to the semis early. In figure skating, Canada must defeat Georgia's skater which is easier said than done.
  4. With Kramer going first, will the Dutch media talk more or less about him during the rest of the event?
  5. In terms of medals I was predicting 2-3 so we did okay, though no gold in men's moguls is sad. I also had high hopes for short track, but the sport is very unpredictable. We are on another level in hockey, but it'll be interesting to see how we compete against the United States. That loss the Sweden in curling was bad, we can't really afford another loss without needing results to go our way and we still have to face a very hot Italy.
  6. Quite happy to wake up to this medal for Canada, I knew she had a decent chance and it's great that she capitalized it. I was hoping a little bit more from Blondin, hopefully she is better in the 5km and mass start
  7. Kingsbury was too slow, but I thought his technique was better...
  8. Potential for a good start for Canada with three medal opportunities. I'm going to try to wake up extra early to see if Kingsbury can win gold (probably only see the third final run)
  9. Italy may have started with an easy draw, but they are making the most of it. Still lots of curling to go, but they are inching closer to a semi-final spot. Probably only need 2/5 wins and they still have Australia to play
  10. In that case Italy holds the tie breaker over both nations. We could enter an awkward situation where Canada and Georgia are completely tied. If Georgia gets 5th and Canada 6th (and Italy finishes 9th or 10th). Not completely impossible to happen...
  11. Beating Italy in the women's singles is very doable, the bigger issue is Georgia who could leapfrog everyone.
  12. How are ties broken, there's a chance we may see one between Italy and Canada/Georgia
  13. Even if they allowed continental quotas I don't think he made the minimum requirements this time.
  14. After 2/4 rounds Canada not looking so hot. Making the final is still possible, but a medal is looking less likely. Our pairs need to pull off something special while Japan flops.
  15. The calm before the storm. Big day for the figure skating team while our mixed doubles curlers face another two tough opponents.
  16. Not that either country had a great chance at reaching the finals, but this really kills their chances.
  17. I wasn't able to watch the women's moguls, hopefully things go better during the medal rounds.
  18. To be honest it's just the gap between Canada/United States and the rest of the world. Like I wouldn't expect Switzerland/Finland/Russia to pull off this result against Germany or Hungary.
  19. Yes Kingsbury with a good opening run. Only one woman has qualified directly to the finals, the other two are in a decent position.
