  1. The old scoring system sucked *and* didn't solve any of the controversies, lets not get back to that nonsense please. Boxing is legitimately one of the hardest sport to judge accurately. The only way Olympic boxing can be fair is to have a very competent organization that takes officiating very seriously in charge. Changing the scoring system so it becomes "fencing with fists" won't help and it will create bad fights.
  2. These are really good Olympics so far. Obviously there are some issues, but it feels so good to have crowds again. Like, it’s good. is doing a good job as hosts, team is performing well so far. We are so back after what were, for me, the worst Olympics of my life so far (Beijing 2022).
  3. Quite a good day overall I would say. Dissapointing day in judo and in volleyball (though, tbh, our men's volleyball is sort of a hot mess and probably lucky just to qualify xD ), otherwise I think everything was at or above expectations.
  4. building up a real dynasty in the men's 4x200m free.
  5. advances in the tennis mixed doubles, comfortable win in the super tie-break.
  6. The people who said should boycot the rest of the fencing tournament need to never speak in public ever again
  7. You really think that's the only hardware she'll have? Because I disagree :D
  8. I'm French Canadian, throwing English tongue twisters at me is basically discrimination :P (I kid, but I really can't do tongue twisters xD )
  9. Oh I am not surprised you are a Korkina fanboy. You really have that same... personality type that she has.
  10. Surely has to be up there as one of the best moment ever in Gymnastics. This will be a really popular medal among Gymnastics fans in general I think
  11. I'll remember that when Nemour wins a medal on Russia's best aparatus
  12. Oh ya, this is the best the Canadian 7s team has look this entire Olympiad. A medal of any kind was a real stretch, beating and back to back before losing to by a single score? That's so much better than was expected. And this is a young team too.
  13. Shame about all the mistakes in the second half, gold was a real possibility for this team.
  14. Feels really deserved for the to finally win a 7s medal given their teams on both the men’s and women’s side are always competitive and well supported. Also, they are the only first time medalist in Rugby 7s at these Olympics (assuming we don’t count the XVs medals)
  15. Pretty good tournament for North America :D
  16. is eating kangoroo for breakfast so far today. beats 22-14 in 3x3.
  17. Happy for Leski finally winning a major tournament, she's been close before.
  18. So close to a shock gold for
  19. When it's a bareling wave like here: how well you manage to get hidden into the barrel, how big of a drop into the barel you do, and how cleanly you come out. A quirk of surfing is that different beaks and different wave conditions get judged differently. Basically the judges are looking for something like this: big drop, surfer completly dissapears, surfer comes out cleanly and in control.
