  1. 3rd qualification in tiro a segno: Sollazzo, Monna, Maldini. Still much worse than in Tokyo, but maybe something will come up. The biggest problem is with the women's team and has been for several years. In Tokyo there was only 1 qualification for Sofia Caccarello, and now 0 for now and it will be difficult to get any.
  2. They are part of the whole puzzle. Moreover, you need to use them regularly and in large quantities to absorb your opponent's attention. If you send even 50 Shaheds at once, it will do you no good.
  3. Israel is in a better situation than Ukraine because it has 100% US guarantees and better anti-aircraft protection. I don't think the Iranian Shahed drones that are effective in Ukraine will work here either.
  4. Drones are often used to detect enemy anti-aircraft protection and know where to strike with something stronger. This is how Russians often act in Ukraine.
  5. If Maldini advances from here tomorrow the Latvian will basically also be certain of promotion. I hope that!
  6. Strautmanis? He can advance for the rankings, but not yet.
  7. Maldini deserved to go to Paris but it won't be easy. He is 4th in the world ranking, so he must to advance here or overtake the Latvian in the last two World Cups. Unfortunately, France is weak in this competition and only 1st place in the world ranking. Don't say anything about the level of our girls, because it's a total disgrace... Italian shooting today is only Monna, Solazzo and Maldini. The female sector is practically non-existent
  8. I'm just worried about the final against the UK, which was a disaster for Italy. France was able to improve from run to run, Italy was not. I think that in the end, Paternoster will replace Alzini in the 4 for the team at least looking at the current form. In the road race, due to profile of course, Elisa Longo Borghini will 100% be the Italian leader, especially if she maintains her current high form.
  9. I mean that France doesn't currently have a top-class cyclist like Elisa Balsamo or even Chiara Consonni. The problem for the Italians is that they rarely train with each other due to the intense season on the road. Therefore, beating UK, which focuses 100% on the track is unlikely but fight of silver and bronze is still open. I hope that Marco Villa has planned it well and will have more time to work with the team before the Olympics. Balsamo and Consonni have a strong position in their teams and will certainly be allowed to train longer for the track.
  10. Canada's fastest time in the women's sprint was in qualifying and such a time would have given it a sure bronze medal in the finals. However, in the pursuit race they are simply weaker than Italy or France.
  11. Canada is certain to take bronze in the men's sprint. Italy is currently too weak to beat it.
  12. The plan has been done for Canada - 2 QOs have arrived, so there is nothing to get excited about. However, I`m worried about the poor form of the Italian women in the pursuit race - individually Balsamo and Consonni are in fantastic shape, but the team is not very well-coordinated With Great Britain, which focuses everything on the Olympics and its competitors only ride on the track, it1s difficult to win, but it`s already a worse time than France may be disturbing. France also has road racers and they are much less talented than the Italians.
  13. The Italians have no chance of winning gold in Paris Unfortunately, if you ride the entire season on the road, like Balsamo or Consonni, you can't beat the UK, which has Archibald focusing only on the track. The Italians would have to miss part of the road season to be able to fight for something big in Paris. And even any medal will be difficult to win, because New Zealand will come and France is close.

  15. They are 3 qualifies in Istambul, so he may have a repechage if, for example, he loses to a Salkazanov before final. What's worse is that Italian wrestling can only count on Chamizo to get the quota in Paris. The rest of the team is basically gone... One Chamizo won more fights today - 3, than the entire remaining Italian team combined - 2
  16. How do you see Chamizo chances against Bayramov in 1/2?
  17. Just because someone spends a lot of money badly does not mean that you have to reduce your funds and hope for a miracle. PSG also invests money poorly, but Man City is playing great with a lot of money. You definitely need to invest more in sports if you want to stay at the top of the class. medal
  18. The federation has probably bet everything on judo, which shows good results and prospects. Italian sport is underfunded and that's why sometimes you have to make difficult choices. I once saw Coni's calculations that less money is invested in Italian sport than in the 1990s. Without money, there will be no good coaches and modern training methods, unfortunately. Junior successes are important but they do not matter if it doesn`t translate into good results in seniors.
  19. https://www.oasport.it/2024/04/sollevamento-pesi-nino-pizzolato-vola-ufficialmente-a-parigi-2024-lazzurro-4-alla-world-cup-di-phuket/
  20. The achievements of the Italian team are scandalous so far: 11 fights and 10 defeats in the first round + only 1 win for Nikoloz Kakhelashvili. The women's team didn't even put up a fight here and embarrassed themselves. I don't know what's the point of sending such weak players to the qualifying tournament? Italy's only chances are two aging freestyle competitors: Chamizo and Conyedo. There is no one young who would make progress or even fight. I don't know if there is something wrong with the financing of wrestling in Ita, e.g. at the cost of judo?). In any case, we need to think about what to do with this team after 2024. Does it make sense to invest in this sport, and if so, how? Perhaps it is worth thinking about naturalizing a few younger people, e.g. from the former USSR, since local wrestlers are in no way able to be competitive. Btw., the last medals for Italy were the participation of naturalized Cubans: Chamizo and Conyedo (the last native Italian to win an Olympic medal was Andrea Minguzzi in Beijing 2008: gold). In my opinion, without new naturalizations, there is no point in financing such a weak and uncompetitive team. Tomorrow I wish that Chamizo will win the quotas but this will not change the total decline of Italian wrestling in recent years.
  21. The only chance that Chamizo will advance to the Olympics tomorrow. https://www.oasport.it/2024/04/lotta-subito-fuori-tutte-le-azzurre-nel-torneo-europeo-di-qualificazione-olimpica/?refresh_ce
  22. Italian women's wrestling at the bottom. If Chamizo doesn`t win the quota tomorrow, there is a serious threat that we will not qualify anyone for Paris And the examples of Germany and France show that you can fight even without the naturalization of people from the former USSR.
  23. The Italians aren`t as weak as they looked in the first two matches but today Slovakia had a bad day, which can happen to such a young team. However, their promotion is almost certain. If Italy wins against Slovenia for 3 points, they will take 3rd place and repeat of 2022 and 2023. Next year if South Korea or the Netherlands are relegated, we will have a real chance to fight for promotion higher. It would be best to organize the tournament in Italy next year. There is also a chance that Laura Fortino will be able to play for us (2024/2025 will be her second season in Bolzano in Italian League).
