  1. 63 medals for now... Can we get to 70 tomorrow? What are our chances, really, apart from 3-4 medals in swimming?
  2. Italy: for now 46 medals, including 28 in swimmingAn even greater disproportion than in Tokyo.
  3. I'm betting between 60 and 70 for today. I have an average grasp of the realities of para-sports and I'm betting quite carefully. From what I see, over 50% of our medals are in swimming. It was similar in Tokyo. It's a shame that we have so few medals in track and field. Unfortunately, in fencing we can't break the dominance of China in Paris.
  4. The last time Russia played was in February 2022 in Beijing at the Olympics, and Belarus probably even earlier. We don't know what form these teams are in, which players will decide to play at the Olympics, etc. For example, Italy in football, less than a year after winning Euro 2021, didn`t qualify for the World Cup after losing at home to North Macedonia...
  5. By the way, why does Russia still have a chance at the Olympics ticket and Belarus doesn't? In theory, each team should have an equal chance and, for example, maybe they should play a play-off games for that place in a format like Russia-Belarus-France-Norway?
  6. We defended ourselves here with 2 medals + assuming Furlani's start, there would probably be 3 of them, including 1 gold, but our performance for me is definitely a minus. A large Italian team went, and most of the competitors are out of shape and doing poorly. The result in the points classification will also be much weaker than in 2022. This is probably our first start at the youth and junior level in several years, where we did so poorly. I don't recognize most of our team and they shouldn't start here in such form.
  7. I wonder what she's planning? Mass starts? I'm afraid that if she wants to combine short track with long track in 2026, she'll be left with nothing. The worst thing is that she would have the best chance in the mixed relay in short track, and by not training with the rest of the team, she significantly reduces her chances of participating in this relay.
  8. Musetti is probably more talented than Sinner, but for various reasons he may not achieve the results he does. When you look at Musetti's individual moves, only a genius can play like that.
  9. We have 1 bronze, but it's not even about the medals. 2 years ago we won 2 medals: 1 gold and 1 bronze but we were 12th in the points classification with 38 points. Now, before the last day, we won't have even half of that achievement. Something is wrong, because 2/3 of our athletes are starting badly here and are completely out of shape. I don't understand why, because under the new management of Fidal we did well, which is visible in both seniors and juniors results. This year at the U-18 European Championships we won the medal classification, when I`m surprised by the terrible performance in Lima. And it's not even about whether Furalni would have won an additional gold here or not. The facts are that we sent a large team, which is doing badly for the most part and this is probably the 1st such big mistake since the new president of the our federation.
  10. I don't know if we're taking this championship less seriously? Because our results are terrible... I have a déjà vu from our performances at the senior World Championships 10-15 years ago. It's a bit strange, because among the seniors we attack with a wide bench, the U-18 European Championships this year went great for us, and here we have 1x 6th place and that's it. It's a bit worrying...
  11. Overall, the worst is Finland, which is weak in both cases, and yet they should be equal to Norway and Sweden. As you can see, the coolest prime minister in the world didn't do much there, apart from promoting herself :P
  12. They are a powerhouse in winter sports, including hockey. They also have a better national team in football than Italy. They have nothing to be ashamed of. In my opinion, it`s better to be a powerhouse in the winter and a weakling in the summer, than to be mediocre in both cases, like Poland or Ukraine.
  13. I don't take these new team sports too seriously. I always take the classic team sports more seriously: fooball, basketball, volleyball, handball, water polo and field hockey.
  14. Now they are much weaker in handball. The question remains whether we consider 2024 as an Olympic year until Paris 2024, or already until the new cycle? If it`s the furst, then flag football cannot be counted as an Olympic event yet.
  15. Petrzalka was a big sensation. I remember reading an article about them at the time. Even in Bratislava itself it was never a popular club, where Slovan reigns supreme.
  16. This is a golden time for Slovak football. Great Euro 2024 and now Slovan Bratislava in the CL.
  17. No one wrote here before, but a few days ago died Christoph Daum, who will be remembered for coaching Leverkusen in the late 90s.
  18. I would like to believe that after one life comes another.
  19. Carrington currently has 15 World Championship gold medals. I wonder how many he will have by the end of her career?
  20. If Russia's place isn`t confirmed, will the best team from 2 places advance or the best team in the ranking that didn`t qualify?
  21. In my opinion, a system of financing sports should be developed that is independent of the current government or authorities. Such a hypothetical amount of money per year should, for example, increase proportionally to inflation and GDP growth.
