  1. Lol I correctly predicted all the results from group B. I know our team too well.
  2. Argentina World Champions after an exhausting 10 innings-long battle!! history made. Now we have to win the pan am games and also develop the women's team in long term.
  3. Something hilarious: FIVB announced that Iran is the 1st team qualified for the final 6 but they actually are NOT qualified yet. FIVB is wrong. Today Iran played France with almost all substitutes and lost 3-0 someone tell them before it's too late.
  4. Argentina and Japan will play the final of the men's World championship. Historic first final for our team
  5. Olympics are meaningless for men's football. Nobody cares, not FIFA, not the best players, not the federations. London was the last semi-serious tournament, Rio was a complete joke already, Tokyo I don't want to imagine. The clubs have become too powerful and they are more greedy than ever before. Sure, those kids that go and play will care. However us as spectators or fans.... I'm not sure it's even worth watching in such conditions.
  6. I don't get why anyone would care about olympic qualification in men's football. The top players won't be released by the clubs. It's likely that not even the top players of this tournament (played in June) would be allowed to play in Tokyo (in August, so in pre-season). Everyone except Japan will be there with their C u23 team.
  7. The main problem is the south america-africa play-off. It should be a world qualification tournament with an european, asian and north american team as well. It's likely that we will see France needing to beat USA to qualify, which is extremely tough but also very arbitrary.
  8. I really hope you didn't follow today's game...
  9. Colombia and Perú keep losing to Argentina in all the relevant matches (The qualifications for OG and WCh). Those are the only serious matches, in which the teams play with all their best players. The big ranking points are also in those two tournaments, not in pan am cup, grand prix, whatever. That doesn't matter. If Colombia and Perú want to prove they worth, they should do in the upcoming south american olympic qualifiers. If they lose again... they deserve to be there.
  10. What a waste, now you have to beat Korea and Ireland to qualify. Same happened to Chile in women's today, they wasted their win with Japan by losing to Russia.
  11. I think the system is only in place for the olympic tournament, the world series qualifiers and the u20 World championship of the XVs. It's not that many. The olympics should really be 2 groups of 6 like most other team sports. Maybe scrap the quarterfinals and go directly to semis if it's too much games for rugby.
  12. I wouldn't be surprised if they tie or lose to Paraguay or Qatar. This is simply a complete disaster of a team. There is no tactics, weak players in key positions (CDM, CBs), and worst of all... no attitude in most players. Today only Messi, De Paul and Lo Celso looked like they cared a bit about the match.
  13. Because there is overlap with pan am games and the priority is the games for any of our athletes. From this year on our NOC has a new policy: if you don't win a pan american medal you lose all funding. The only exception is winning a World championship medal, which she can do with a mark like this, but it's far from sure, so.... better play it safe. Also it doesn't help that WCH is Korea, exactly the opposite side of the world. If they were in USA or west Europe I think our swimmers (or at least her) would have tried both.
  14. Very likely one of the following: -either Korea or China (whoever is ranked lower by that date) -USA -Belgium -South Africa or Chile (whoever is ranked higher by that date, I'm assuming RSA will reject continental quota though ) I would say that out of these the only team I'd favor against Ireland is Belgium. Something important I found out recently: it won't be a home and away play-off, it will two leg play-off in which the highest ranked team hosts twice. Which means Ireland will be hosting both games.
  15. In fact, it's better. Look at last few years with France and Russia wasting energy in this meaningless tournament then underperforming in serious stuff.
  16. What a month for ukrainian football. I hope they qualify for Qatar.
  17. Ireland and Korea have qualified from tournament 1 to olympic play-offs (as expected). Tournament 2 started today in Hiroshima. Japan and India are favorites but Chile is really close to their level and could sneak in that top 2. Remember Japan making top 2 won't automatically qualify the 3rd place here, the quota will go to World ranking.
  18. Wow 15:51:68 for Pignatiello in the 1500 free. New south american record. I hope she gives us 3 golds at the pan am games.
  19. Well, good effort. Against Scotland they will have to attack though.
  20. Again no surprises when it mattered, the top two ranked teams qualified. Last tournament starts tomorrow, Ireland and France favorites to take the final places with only Korea with a chance to spoil. Probably we will simply see all the top teams in the ranking at the olympic play-offs and no one outside the top 17/18.
  21. ^4:06:61 to qualify for the 400 free as well. Second place again after Kesely though.

  23. Chile's goalie (one of the best in the world) is a million times better than this clueless dwarf thai girl. I think that alone will keep Chile below the 8 goal margin.
  24. The 11-0 is now forgotten, finally
