There are only two "major" candidates: Alberto Fernández (leftist/socialist) and Mauricio Macri, current president (moderate centre-right). They got so far 47% and 32% respectively. The third candidate has only 8%. We have a very stupid system, this round is officially the "primaries" but in actuallity it works as a nation-wide survey. The next round is the official first round (in october) but the results will be almost the same (with only the very minor candidates eliminated after today). To be elected president in the next round you need either to reach +45% of the vote or have at least 40% with a 10% difference over the 2nd placed. As you can see, Fernández with 47% is all but elected at this point. Fernández is not popular by himself, almost all his votes are provided (in truth) by his VP: former president Cristina Kirchner.
