  1. That's fantastic then, no Africa. What are the european chances of making that competition?
  2. My proposal for Baseball/Softball qualification: Japan 1 Asia 1 Oceania 1 Europe + Africa 2 Pan American The ideal thing would be to just qualify the best 5 from world championships though.
  3. It doesn't really matter, I could still edit my prediction anytime I want without you all finding out if I tried to. You will just have to trust in us Personally I only participate in contests in which my knowledge is good enough (mostly team sports) to predict by myself. I'm not interested in participating just to copy other people predictions (and I don't care about general standings, so I don't feel forced to do it).
  4. Just cut a bunch of junk quota from athletics/swimming and 4 teams from men's football.
  5. We already have 13 prediction contests, we can't make more. It would require too many updates and threads.
  6. ehhh as far as I understand the last man(woman) rule was scrapped a few months ago by FIFA....
  7. The only good thing about Karate is that it will give medals to smaller nations. Baseball in the current conditions (no MLB, only 6 teams) is worthless. Skateboarding is ridiculous. Surf i'm not a fan of either.
  8. The most recognizable are Bolt, Nadal, Djokovic, Neymar and Phelps. And that's it. Murray is famous, but I don't think he's particularly liked outside of UK. Gymnastics isn't popular at all outside of your country and Russia/East Europe, so I don't think many people would tell Biles apart. EDIT. Serena Williams is very popular too.
  9. Durant is maybe the only "world famous" of this team. I mean, for those who aren't american and don't follow basketball particularly close.
  10. No, but high chance he doesn't play singles.
  11. Something to kill time with... a video made by our NOC about all argentine medalists in history. They are all in random order and that makes an interesting contrast to watch, also there's some nice old footage for some. Since we don't have that many medals it's only 12 minutes long
  12. Without Wawrinka, Federer, Nadal, Berdych and Thiem I seriously start to believe in Del potro if he can get lucky in draw.
  13. Yes. Those 3 are from left to right Pablo Simonet, Juan Pablo Fernández and Federico Vieyra.
  14. I think like half of argentine delegation took photo with Djokovic.
  15. Nope, you're right, that's why I ask for patience. Don't expect so many corrections in the medal candidates though, a bunch will be made, but not a lot.
  16. Some corrections are to be done, just wait a while please.
  17. The only way bet number 2 can be eliminated is if Russia had been given a full blanket ban, because that would mean Russia automatically wins 0 medals in Rio 2016. That is confirmed to not be the case, so that bet will stay no matter the decision on some sports is. I can't comment anything more on the topic, sorry, because I would be helping users if I did. Just remember, only if the answer is definitely set in stone before August 6th I can remove a bet. Only in that case.
  18. Unless the bet explicitily mentions Russia (the case of numbers 2 and 120), I can't do nothing pal. Everything else (although, as you say, russian performance affects some answers) enters the subjective territory.
  19. You can enter the competition whenever you want. However all votes have to be done before the 1st Day of the Olympics. August 5th, h. 23:59 (GMT -3) will be considered the deadline, you can’t edit your votes after that.
  20. I'll give you a concrete example: it's a shame Afghanistan will not take part in taekwondo (their only competitive sport) just because TKD has really limited quota. What they got instead?... two shitty universality in athletics 100m....
  21. Except for a few most of them are competitive matches, this is races and races of poor times until someone with a decent mark enters the track. It's just a personal preference, I would rather see all that quota being given to sports that need it, like fencing, diving or taekwondo. It doesn't have to be for the big nations, you can still give it to small nations. Just adding a lil' more diversity.
  22. Maybe all those floors with no flags belong to them and they either just decided to not hang flags or haven't arrived yet.
