It's more a double edged sword for me. I'm happy that Turkey's strategy of naturalizing athletes to win medals isn't working, but at the same time Ofili and the Jamaican field athletes did it because they weren't being treated right by their federations. Now they have to go back to the same federations that fucked them over to compete in LA.

I'd much rather this have happened than it gone through, however

I'd really like to understand what's the mentality behind these shameless purchases from Turkey and other neighbouring countries.
Do they feel any pride when they win? Does it bring any profit in terms of 'soft power' to win by doing this when everyone else in the world thinks you're cheating?

I’ve actually net Viggo in person during an exhibition match close to me and he’s the nicest guy ever, wishing him the best in his retirement. It almost didn’t happen actually, after the match was over he took pictures but they ended up wrapping it up before I had a chance to get mine, but then I spoke up about how it was my birthday and he turned back, said happy birthday, and I ended up getting a picture with him and chatting with him for a few minutes.

    last session in  Stockholm

    more clockings around Europe:

in , John Shortt swam 53.17 over the men's 100m Back and 1.55.70 over the 200m Back, meanwhile Daniel Wiffen only got 14.51 over the 1500m Free and 7.58 over the 800m Free

in , Noè Ponti went below the 23-sec mark in the men's 50m Fly (22.96)

Results from the Pan Am Championships

Canada swept the women's singles podium with Li-Zhang-Hoang-Chan

Lai won the men's singles title, Nguyen won bronze. Yang went out in the quarterfinals

Dent/Lai won bronze in women's doubles, there were only four teams competing

Lee/Lindeman made the final, but got demolished by the US 21-13, 21-8

Both mixed doubles teams went out in the quarterfinals

After this unfortunately I don't see us qualifying in any of the doubles events for LA 2028, although given how the last few years have gone it was always going to be tough.
