2023 Pan Am Games Qualification Tournament for Taekwondo took place from March 22-23, 2023. Here’s where Canada secured quotas;

Poomsae

Women’s Individual - 1

Men’s Individual - 1

Kyorugi

Women’s -49kg - 1

Women’s -57kg - 1

Women’s -67kg - 1

Men’s -58kg - 1

Men’s -68kg - 1

Men’s -80kg - 1

Men’s +80kg - 1

We missed out on qualification in the Women’s -67kg category via Rachel Fountain. Anyways I’m bored, so I’ll try to predict the team that’ll be representing Canada at the 2023 Pan Am Games in taekwondo.

Poomsae

Men’s Individual- Jinsu Ha (WR #9)

Poomsae- Women’s Individual- Michelle Lee (WR #12) (Not to be confused with Michelle Li :p)

Poomsae- Mixed Pair- Jinsu Ha/Michelle Lee

Kyorugi

Women’s -49kg - Viviane Tranquille

Women’s -57kg - Skylar Park

Women’s -67kg - Ashley Kraayeveld

Men’s -58kg - Nicholas Hoefling

Men’s -68kg - Tae-Ku Park

Men’s -80kg - Jordan Stewart

Men’s +80kg - Marc-André Bergeron

I must admit I don't fully understand the rules off Taekwondo and am unsure how controversial it was.

Kafadar won her Olympic quota in a controversial decision yesterday, so at least it all balances out :dunno:

Real talk, whoever’s referring the matches here needs to be fired. They’re either corrupt or blind, because in no way was that a Guzman win. But theres been a couple of these throughout the week, so I’m not surprised.
