  1. 4th for Team Gushue at the Pan Continental Curling Championships after going undefeated in round robin (shades of the Swiss women at Beijing) How pathetic given the level of opposition.
  2. Team Homan defeats Team Rui 6-5 in an extra end to advance to the gold medal match. Wasn’t watching because I can’t be bothered to pay for Curling Channel, but the game being this close is concerning.
  3. Doesn’t feel like it for me either, winter started for me back in late September/early October (first event was the Pointsbet Invitational in curling), and ends midway through June (NHL Stanley Cup Finals) For me, it’ll probably be midway throughout the winter season in late January. Edit: I lied, I also watched the Ice Hockey Olympic Qualifiers in early September.
  4. A monster 2:12.72 for Douglass in the women’s 200m breaststroke, holy crap Broke the previous WR mark that she held by almost a second and a half, and she’s now almost two seconds faster than the next fastest all-time performer, Rebecca Soni (2:14.56)
  5. Took a couple of videos, but completely forgot to take even a single picture and the file size of the videos are too big for Totallympics so I had to find a site to upload it to https://streamable.com/ga23lv Vibes at the game were good, place was loud, and I downed a $6 poutine from Costco before the game. Unfortunately, the game didn’t go so well, it took us a solid 45 minutes to actually start playing hockey besides some bursts here and there, and after coming back from down 1-3 we gave up the OT goal less than a minute in (Typical Canucks fashion), but Lankinen stole us a point, they had so many solid opportunities on him and we had no business staying close. Really mediocre start to the season for the Canucks so far, even with 11 points in 8 games, a lot of players not showing up (Petey, Soucy, Myers, Hög, Miller, DeBrusk, although for DeBrusk he’s been known to have a streaky game) and our power play and overtime have been fucking dogshit (power play has been like this for years). Shoutout to Garland, Hughes, Sherwood and Lankinen though they’ve been incredible so far
  6. Mel/Brandie have confirmed that they'll be playing together throughout the next Olympic cycle!
  7. Going to the Canucks game today against the Hurricanes, will try to share some pictures as soon as I get back

  13. with their first win at a World Curling Championship, as they defeat 8-7 in the B-division of the Pan Continental Curling Championships
  14. Aamodt Kilde injured, Odi down, what a horrible start to the season for my favourites
  15. Two WR’s in Incheon, 54.41 for Smith in the women’s 100m backstroke and 2:14.16 for Douglass in the women’s 200m breaststroke!
  16. PEN for and they go from gold to no medal upgraded from silver to gold, wasn’t expecting them to take the win
  17. That was such an exciting and messy 3000m final, wow A couple of falls, a bunch of drama, and around 50 heart attacks? I love short track
