  1. Kayla Sanchez’s first international meet for (after representing Canada at multiple Olympics, winning multiple relay medals), rooting for her to win a medal

  4. Although, if they were to do VNL 2024 a couple of months earlier (Where the World Ranking quotas would be handed out), and the OQT in mid June, then it (being VNL 2024) might conflict with club seasons.
  5. For the top teams, this event is pretty much useless, as they’ll qualify anyways. Why doesn’t FIVB award five quotas through World Rankings, then do an OQT for the remaining six spots.
  6. 5 days away No expectations for Canada, as it’s quite unlikely we’ll secure a quota, even through World Rankings. Essentially, if we don’t qualify here (most likely having to beat both Netherlands and Argentina), our chances would be over.

  8. Don’t see McIntosh making that particular relay (at least for finals) if Ruck and Oleksiak are fully healthy, her split wasn’t very good at this years World Championships. Wouldn’t be surprised to see her competing in only one relay (4x200m freestyle) at the Olympics.
  9. All of my predictions are made under the assumption that Russia won’t be competing.
