  1. That’s correct. Neither Argentina nor Belgium would be able to catch up on points in their remaining games. If Belgium loses against Canada in 3/4, the maximum amount of points Belgium could gain is 3 (currently at 11 points), which would put them at 14 points. If Argentina win their remaining matches in 3/4, they would gain 6 points (currently at 8 points), which would also put them at 14 points. If Canada wins against Belgium in 3/4, that would put them at 15 points. A win, or loss against Mexico wouldn’t matter.

  3. https://www.worldskate.org/skateboarding/about/regulations/category/554-olympic-qualifying-system.html?download=5397:paris-2024-skateboarding-qualification-point-system
  4. Challenger Cup will be after the cut off date. African Games (and other Continental Championships) will not count towards volleyball qualification for Paris, so don’t know why they’re saying that.
  5. That is incorrect. @thepharoah won’t officially be confirmed until June 2024, when the World Ranking period ends, but the quota will pretty much be guaranteed for either team at the end of the OQT. VNL 2024 is the only remaining tournament (after the OQT), and no African nations will be competing.
  6. Men’s Semifinalists Pedro Barros Yuro Nagahara Tom Schaar Hampus Winberg Gavin Bottger Alex Sorgente Pedro Carvalho Augusto Akio Jagger Eaton JD Sanchez Luigi Cini Alessandro Mazzara Tate Carew Keefer Wilson Steven Pineiro Danny Leon
  7. Set ratio. If Canada loses 2-3 to Belgium and beats Mexico 3-0, and Belgium beats Bulgaria 3-1 (same situation if Canada beats Mexico in 4, and Belgium beats Bulgaria in 5) then we would qualify for Paris. If Canada and Belgium both win 3-0/3-1/3-2 it would go down to points ratio.
  8. Canada with a convincing 3-0 (25-21, 21-17, 21-18) victory over Bulgaria! Maar led all players with 16 points (13 attacks, 1 ace, 3 blocks) for Canada, with Loepkky also having a great game with 13 points (9 attacks, 3 aces, 1 block). For Bulgaria, Atanasov lead with 9 points (8 attacks, 1 block) with Sokolov not far behind with 8 points (6 attacks, 1 block, 1 ace) Assuming we beat Mexico in 3/4 on Sunday, a win tomorrow against Belgium in 3/4 would qualify us for Paris. If Poland beats Argentina today, then two wins with any scoreline would do the job for Canada.
  9. sweep taking the third set 25-18!
  10. Canada takes set two 25-17, up 2-0 against Bulgaria
  11. Canada takes the first set 25-21 against Bulgaria!
  12. Update: Pool A: Iran traveled with their A-squad to the Asian Games in China, and a couple of days later went to Rio for the OQT. They’re also missing a few key players (Ebadipour being one of them) don’t know why I had them placing within the top three (probably should’ve gone with Cuba then Germany then Iran) Brazil has been an absolute mess as well, but I thought they would pull it together in time. Guess not… Germany is having a phenomenal run. Grozer, of course the star of the team with 105 points in 4 matches Right now I’d go with Pool B: United States and Slovenia performing as expected. Turkey, despite their 1-3 record are playing really well too, with a win in 4 over Serbia. Definitely a team to watch for the future. Japan struggling against Finland (barely surviving in 5) and losing to Egypt (also in 5) was definitely not something I had on my bingo card, although after their first match against Finland, an upset for Egypt seemed very much possible. Fatigue must be setting in. Still going with Pool C: Belgium and Canada are the real surprises of this pool. Belgium, by sweeping Netherlands, and losing to Argentina and Poland in 5. Canada, by winning against Netherlands in 5, winning against Argentina in 4, and losing to Poland in 5. Don’t know what’s happened to Netherlands, must be the same situation with Japan. Nimir is playing well though. Poland has shown they are far from unbeatable but should place first in the pool. Going with now

  22. Same applies with Belgium. They’re still in the conversation for an Olympic quota.
