  1. Yeah, Arzamasova has been in the freezer for like 4 years already?
  2. Did the guy from Haiti last longer than the guy from Kiribati yesterday?
  3. Is she based in Canada though? I don't expect judo being remotely a thing over there
  4. Andreas Jonsson (speedway) 9x Grand Pix winner, 2011 World Championships runner-up has announced his retirement aged 38. Yeah, I know this guy is a total stranger for anyone living outside of Poland, Sweden & Denmark
  5. Yeah, Kowalczyk winning bronze & Yoshida not winning gold is the best case scenario. Though obviously this thing here was nothing like the Pawel Zagrodnik robbery vs master of all robbers Ebinuma at London OG 2012 Kowalczyk will only turn 22 next month so maybe we have a true elite talent on the women's side which we really lacked since the 90s (and I'm not talking Beata Maksymow who remains the last Polish judo World Champion but Ewa Larysa Krause who was way more talented before her career was tragically cut short).
  6. Orudjov didn't stance a chance like expected...
  7. Heydarov wins bronze after 7:47 of Golden Score Now let's see if Ono does what he's supposed to do...
  8. Julia!!!! Bronze for Poland!!!!!!
  9. Polish ES is obviously showing Hurkacz's fifth set instead of Sharapova vs Williams about to start
  10. You ain't gonna find decency in politics. Even those seemingly decent people with ideas become overwhelmed by the power once they have it.
  11. Does Macron even stand a chance of re-election himself? Guess he's been exposed as the gentry's puppet already? If world leaders consider him as a sitting duck nobody's gonna hold back in taking cheap shots at his wife
  12. I recall Japan taking some risks with Kaori Matsumoto over Aiko Sato for 2012 (Matsumoto won the Grand Slam in Tokyo but Sato was the reigning champion) and Haruna Asami was a two-time reigning World Champion and still got passed over for Tomoko Fukumi whom she beat both times in the WC final. However she could never win the All-Japan title until 2013 and Fukumi was IJF ranking leader for 4 years.
  13. 1 am tonight
  14. What if Abe is higher in the World Rankings? I've heard that All-Japan Champs are more important for the Japanese selection but sometimes they still favor the designated hero over the underdog?
  15. And now taking selfies with kids. He probably stands zero chance of taking the Olympic spot from Abe though?
  16. Maruyama takes gold! That was impressive!
  17. Uta Abe wins gold by ippon after 30 secs.
  18. Kelmendi wins bronze and Ramos probably suffered a broken nose
  19. Maruyama upsets 2x defending champ Abe in the golden score!
  20. Outrageous time wasting by the Egyptian! And he gets promptly DQ with 15 secs left
  21. Talk about blowing up your own franchise, I mean Ryan Grigson will probably burn in hell for this after years of struggling to address the OLine. Next in line Steve Keim of the Cardinals who prefers to draft WRs instead of OL. Let's see how that works out for your #1 overall pick!
  22. Magda Linette has won the WTA tournament in The Bronx!! (her maiden WTA title) This is a HUGE success for Polish tennis!
  23. First loss for USA in any game since the 2006 World Ch semi-final?
  24. I see Lisa Carrington keeps her iron rule in K1 200m going Good to see Walczykiewicz winning the B-class there again
  25. Volleyball must have the most busy international schedule out of all team sports. It's like FIVB creates a new tournament every other year just for the sake of it or expands the number of participants in existing ones. Club level play is pushed deep into the cheap seats, it's more or less the same countries and teams that reach the final stages of all these European cups and players take part in more NT games than domestic league. We have Olympics, WCh, ECh, World Cup, World League (or Nations League now) and all these qualifying events too. Does it really help the expansion of the sport? Other than Iran I see no other global men's team that has arrived and made an impact but they basically replaced Cuba which has imploded with all their best players deserting them. In Europe maybe Finland and Slovenia are like the new wave. Volleyball is a pretty niche team sport and that's unlikely to change tbh.
