  1. The late 90s/early 00s powerhouse Unia Oświęcim wins their first domestic title since 2004 after defeating two-time defending champions GKS Katowice in Game 7 of the Finals (1:0 with the only goal in overtime by Mark Kaleinikovas).
  2. Yeah, it will be very hard to achieve this result in any modern stadium where the grandstand seats or the roof make the wind less effective in throwing events to say the very least. And nobody builds a stadium with one end completely open anymore either.
  3. Yeah, the lack of actual grand stands makes this "stadium" look quite unique. I wonder if it suddenly becomes the new go-to-place for throwers
  4. No real surprise. Attacking the Iranian embassy in Syria was a meaningless act so response should be obvious but Netanyahu relies on the radicals support so he will obey to anything internally to hold onto the power. The 50 year old vendetta for the death of his brother continues
  5. Yes, tomorrow at 11:00 am CET. She is out of the Top 12 in rankings though (currently 16th) so she'd need to improve by minimum 5-6 kg to have a chance.
  6. It seems like will be absent from OG in weightlifting for the first time since 1948 A historical collapse of the sport which is still third in our medal table haul (only behind athletics and boxing).
  7. Yeah, you can always count on frequent name changes because of sponsorship. It sadly happens in the Polish volleyball too. It's like one sport where club names doesn't seem to mean much even to fans who don't really oppose these changes. Anyway, the pink shirts are gone. I don't remember if that was a designated team color or just for sponsorship reasons
  8. Ajax Amsterdam lost to Feyenoord Rotterdam 0-6 Probably the biggest defeat for Ajax in De Klassieker?
  9. VBC Casalmaggiore has been dissolved. Italy surely has the greatest number of clubs that cease to exist even when they are seemingly successful
  10. Shane Bieber is set for TJ surgery and Spencer Strider could follow suit. The rash of pitcher's arm injuries seems to be going up at fast rate so I wonder how long until mainstream media begin to realize there is some connection between this and the push for velocity numbers OR even the pitch clock being introduced last year. Something is definitely going on since I believe those injuries will only increase.
  11. Yeah, they had many injuries in November & December but the key part seems to be that Śliwka, Bednorz & Kaczmarek will all leave at the end of the season and it's public knowledge. So fans suspect they simply don't care about this season or the team's results anymore. Śliwka will move to Japanese champions Suntory Sunbirds, Bednorz to Asecco Resovia and Kaczmarek to Jastrzębski Węgiel.
  12. The worst domestic league result in the last 30 years is confirmed for ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle as they miss the Top 8 playoffs. Their previous worst since promotion in 1995 was 8th place in 2006
  13. We scored a goal against Slovakia! But the neighbors scored five
  14. Poland managed to beat GB and still got relegated with a game left
  15. The worst kept secret is official as WTA Finals are going to Riyadh. Technically it can't be worse than ghost town of Fort Worth or the windy mess in Cancun. WTA is in financial dire straits and well, Saudi Arabia has more money than China who was the designated villain not so long ago Follow the money is always good! https://www.wtatennis.com/news/3952623/riyadh-selected-as-the-host-of-wta-finals-from-2024-2026
  16. I'm waiting for strippers... errr.. exotic dancers to win Olympic medals in the foreseeable future
  17. Nobody really watched doubles anymore ergo nobody cares.
  18. Yeah, but this top-heavy approach has brought down more aspiring contenders before. Kiner-Falefa looked okay in Texas but that's the thing with players looking good on terrible teams (as Rangers were then). They usually look below average on better teams. At least you didn't sign Daniel Vogelbach But yeah, 39-year old Justin Turner makes no sense whatsoever. Overall teams that have sucked in the last several years have turned it around somewhat fast (Rangers, Orioles and DBacks) and Blue Jays might have a copy of the Mets situation where Alonso/Lindor combo just doesn't win enough games save for that one season. Hell, I kinda expect Alonso will be traded if Mets are few games below .500 at the All-Star break.
  19. Guess Guerrero and Bichette will ride on their reputation for a while yet while in reality they're not the difference makers? I mean Orioles turned it around to become the new talk of the town and Rays will keep doing what they're doing while the media ignores them as usual.
  20. And that is exactly what Israel wanted so it was probably an attack on purpose to scare off all the aid organizations. There were three cars travelling and three drone strikes each happened after occupants moved to the remaining cars after there was nobody alive in the end.
  21. First no-hitter of the season. Ronel Blanco of the Astros blanks the Blue Jays in 10-0 rout.
  22. Long-time NPB pitcher Shota Imanaga made his MLB debut for the Cubs and gave up only 2 hits in 6 IP vs Rockies. Cubs won 5-0 also thanks to one Colorado guy making two errors on one play
  23. Easter Monday in Polish Ekstraklasa. Even sofascore got crazy and counted this as own goal
