Is there still any chance (I mean withdrawals and reallocations) that Wojaniec will qualify or all hopes are gone?

Realistically only if Ukraine declines their spot... Right now they have nobody with MER so it is possible.

  • 2 weeks later...

And here is the list of eventing MER events for 2020.

:IND India and :RSA South Africa need qualifying score at one CCI4*-L event in order to keep their spots. Since both their riders are based in Western Europe, essentially they are left with 8 possible events in Barroca d'Alva, Montelibretti, Ballindenisk, Montelibretti (2), Sopot, Baborowko, Saumur and Tattersalls...

Apparently the International Jumping Riders Club has asked FEI to look into qualifying events held in Damascus and Villeneuve-Loubet. They are the ones where Syria and Jordan (in particular), but also Sri Lanka gained most of their points.

It's just the usual silly business. People get angry because other people outsmart them.

Yeah, I don't think anything will be done here. The events included international athletes so it's hard to argue the events shouldn't count.

Personally I dislike world rankings deciding who qualifies as a lot of them don't really determine who is the best, just who competes the most. With that said, I have no problem with the way those athletes qualified as everyone knew the rules long before Olympic qualification began.

Yeah, get angry and try to change it for the next Olympics, but don't cry about the current ones after the facts..

    • apparently our NOC rejected the winter sport federation request to send a bigger delegation.   they published a list of just 14 athletes. 8 in CC skiing, 2 in Alpine and 4 in SkiMo. equal number of male and female athletes in each sport.
