Winter Olympic Games 2018 Best of Social Media

Hello and welcome in yet another thread!

As most of you are probably very well aware, the 2018 Winter Olympics are coming up quickly. On social media this means athletes will have to abide by some strict rules, think along the lines of absolutely no sponsor mentions, and so on. Anyhow, that obviously won't prevent athletes from sharing their adventures on social media, and that's where it gets fun for us! We all remember, or at least some do, the likes of Usain Bolt and the women's handball team appearing, the US bobsledders destroying a door because they got stuck, and so on.

Since we're with many people from many different nations here, I thought it'd be fun to keep an eye on the social media accounts of our athletes and teams, and post the fun, interesting or otherwise remarkable things here :)

yes you know, Slovaks have this awesome spirit to never complicate things.... why choose something else, if you can book a travel 8:00 Bratislava - Vienna, then Vienna-Helsinki and then Helsinki-Seoul and then Seoul-Gangneung :d

btw another one for this thread

also after yesterdays departure of the complete biathlon team and womens cross-country skiing team, today it was time to go for the Mens part of luge team and mens part of cross-country skiing team..yes why to complicate things, if we can send every day some athletes separately :d

mens luge squad - the athletes on the right, Doubles team Solčanský/Stuchlák, Ninis and the young Šimoňák

    • Thank you as well! Sorry for not being able to deliver the results.
    • I think we can all agree, that it is absurd for the World Cup to end in the middle of January.  Yes, there are the Olympics, but it will be a whole month without racing before it. IBSF always crams their calendar week after week, without any thought.
    • Yes she's sick and will be DNS for the pursuit.
    • Team Event     The top 9 teams advance to the next round!   We lose the Clare Banners and the Mayo Banners at this stage. Those nations move forward to the Pairs Event which will take place in the second half of the contest.     Current Standings after Session 1         Q1 Pts Q2 Pts Q3 Pts Q4 Pts 7th  Wicklow Wolfhounds 46  0  0  0  2nd  Belfast Titanics 90  0  0  0  11th  Clare Banners 6  0  0  0  9th  Limerick Leprechauns 37  0  0  0  4th  Galway Girls 71  0  0  0  6th  Waterford Crystals 47  0  0  0  8th  Dublin Druids 39  0  0  0  1st  Donegal Dannys 98  0  0  0  3rd  Derry Oakleafs 89  0  0  0  10th  Mayo Mariners 15  0  0  0  5th  Kilkenny Cats 52  0  0  0
    • Totallympics Annual International Song Contest 2025      Thank you Kazakhstan! Let's take a look at the standings as we head into our first break of the day.   Ireland are in the lead with 68 points followed by France, who have had a strong finish to the first session and lie in second place on 45 points. Romania overtakes Canada to claim a top 3 position for the first time on 36 points and Mexico rounds off the top 5.   At the other end of the table, India are the only nation still awaiting their first score of the day but with 3 more sessions still to go, all of this can change as it often does in TISC!   We have a break now 1 hour and 40 minutes and will resume Session 2 at 12:00 GMT.
