Majority of the "review" is just PR exercise. Just look at the composition of Bindra led committee formed by NRAI to look into what went wrong. Apart from Bindra, who will recuse himself from a lot of things as he has a clear conflict of interest as he was part of team, rest of the team is full of journalists.

Really fail to understand how journos are STILL given so much importance in India when its clear to all that most of them know nothing about anything and just are looking for ways to shout their lungs out and create controversy...not just in sports but in everything...

Fully agree about everything except "clear to all". Journalists still hold so much importance because a large number of people don't think journalists are useless. Moreover, they don't have the means/desire/knowledge to depend on other sources for information. You know how hard it is to find information about sports even for us. Federations know that if they can control media, they can escape scrutiny for another 4 years.

"I am very happy to inform you that Archer Monika Soren who is a student of a school in Paschim Medinipur has won with three others from India the 2nd Stage Asia Archery Cup World Ranking Tournament held at Chinese Taipei Taiwan from 07/09/2016 to 14/09/2016 and has got a Gold Medal.

Monika is a Kanyashree from Nayagrm Block under Jhargram Sub Division, Paschim Midnapore. We had gifted her one international standard archery set on Kanyasree Day, 2015.

Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Monika.

We are proud of our Kanyashrees."

Harikrishna took down the world championship challenger Serjey Kajarkin today !!! :clap::clap:

And he plays Magnus Carlsen tomorrow !!! :yikes::yikes::p:p

The win also moves him to world no. 11 in the live rankings and into the individual silver medal position on the top board.

Unfortunately, the final round pairings mean that Indian men are pretty much assured of missing the medals. Only way they have a chance is if Italy somehow takes down Russia, which would be an upset for the ages...

The girls on the other hand have a great chance of medalling. They play USA tomorrow and need to win (India are seeded 5th, USA 6th). Then, depending on other results, they can end up anywhere from 2nd to 5th !!!

    • With a week to go till the deadline for the world invitational, the rosters look beefy for the discus on both sides.24 entries for the men[19 accepted in so far] and 25 for the women[18 accepted so far] For the men so far there are three 70 meter throwers[i count Denny as that since it's just 4 centimeters off his pb]10 from mid 66 to low 69,three of 65 and over, four from almost 64 to almost 65.On the women's side the 18 accepted throwers all have a pb of over 60 meters.11 of them have  pbs over 64 plus.of the ones still not there besides Valerie and Yaime who have been marketed so i can only assume they will join, such names as  Sandra Elkasevic,Bin Feng, and jordine van klinken aren't signed up yet, jordine's probably the most likely of them to join in tough feng would be a cool surprise,i somehow don't see Sandra doing this, but it would be awesome if she did.Stahl and ceh aren't in yet on the men's side, ceh has been marketed while stahl hasn't been mentioned at all,[pretty sure stahl will not be there],Lukas[last name is too wild for me to even try] and lawrence okoye aren't there yet either but i'm betting both will be joining in.
    • What a shame. That would have been amazing.
    • It's complete American domination in the women's discus rankings so far this year, they occupy the top 4 slots, and the WORST result of those four was achieved at Ramona .Third place currently belongs to Ciera Jackson who had a huge almost 4 METER pr at the west coast relays on friday-64.42[previous best was 60.77 from march of 2023,and she opened her season a week ago with at that time her second best result ever of 60.14]she also had a 63.66 throw to back this new pb up,and finally with her new personal best she took down the school record that stood for 36 YEARS[Btw Valerie Allman actually competed in Ramona on march 30th but conditions were apparently far from ideal and she fouled four times and her best was a 63.61,i don't doubt that in the event that she competes in the  world intational, the conditions will be perfect,i wouldn't be so bold as to say she wouldl get the world record but for sure i think she could get a new personal best.
    • So after finding this this morning     I started to search for more news about the date and ticket prices all over the world web !   I found this then       to just notice later that   it was April fools     so yeah, that was my day
