Unfortunately the Italian men's team is poorly prepared for the season. Everyone is in terrible shooting form. Somewhere a mistake was made in the preparations. We are recording a big regression compared to the previous season. It`s becoming more and more likely that we will not stand on the podium even once this season (I can't remember the last time something like that happened). In the Nations Cup we are in 6th place and we may lose 6 starting places in the World Cup from next season. I am increasingly worried about what will happen in the Olympic season. Without Vittozzi returning to top form, we will not count.
In general our entire winter season looks very bad: biathlon as above, cross-country skiing - still only Pellegrino, luge - poor form, alpine skiing without Goggia and Brignone doesn`t exist.
A few updates from the IFA after last month's Board of Directors meeting.
Looks like there will be no host quota for China at the 2025 World Games. This is surprising after the IFA went to Chengdu last year to put on a clinic. No doubt that given a year China has the resources and athletes to field a team that would be competitive in the placement matches.
Namibia will replace China on the women's side. While will replace on the men's side.
Namibia finished 8th at the last Women's World Championships, while New Zealand finished 11th at the 2023 Men's World Championship.
My first girlfriend was Brazilian, and I already had an interest in winter sports...then I kind of started paying attention to Brazilian winter athletes and long story short, a few years after the relationship ended I started dating a Brazilian winter athlete and here we are, more than 7 years later, living in our home and figuring everything out towards the Olympics
I've been to Falcade a few times for alpine skiing: I think you go down from Passo San Pellegrino but maybe I'm mistaken, because it was quite a while ago.
Btw., do you have any Brazilian ancestry? Where does your fascination with that country come from?
Falcade FESA Cup is ON
Just need to make sure the federation registers her in time. They're trying, but they sent it to the wrong email address, even though the correct one is very clearly listed in the easy to find invitation...oh well, I guess it'll work out
Bruna will by then be basically the only athlete from a small nation who has competed in every single FESA Cup race this season so far, that's quite nice. It'll end there though, since the 5th and 6th stages (Planica and Premanon in March) seem quite useless for the Olympic points, and not really worth the investment.
