PV Sindhu beats her bogey and a previous 4-10 head-to-head record Tai Tzu Ying. She was destroyed in the first set by Tai's drops but the next 2 sets were close.

Sindhu is assured of a medal. She will face winner of Chen yu Fei and Mia Blichfeldt
