Who are supposed to be the good swimmers? Because I dare bet Eurosport will simply call the fastest times great, even if they're actually disappointing for the athletes since they're supposed to do better

Yeah, why choose a small one? At least 200k people will want to see who would be the very best modern soldier (in 1896)

Bit difficult to compare because we have a short track pool here & most historic PBs are set in 50m pools.

Interesting, there are two OBS commentators. One usually does fencing, and there is this woman who sounds familiar but I can't remember her specialist sport.

Sure, but that doesn't really change the general strengths (like a weak swimmer suddenly becoming one of the better ones because of this)
