I guess have to take back what I said about it being unusual for California to have biathletes. Auburn Ski Club was the club I was taking about though (as being our only biathlon club in state).

Their current coach at Auburn is Brian Halligan, a former US Youth and Junior biathlete who never quite made it to the full National Team.  One thing that impresses me about the list is variety.  Instead of all from Vermont or New Hampshire, of the 16 athletes, there are 9 states represented.  That is great for the health of biathlon in the United States.  This is even without Wyoming, Idaho, Wisconsin or New Hampshire who often are represented.  I think the hiring of Tim Burke as the Youth/Junior Development Director has really allowed the Youth/Junior section of USBA to develop in ways it previously had not.

Here is the team packet from the upcoming World Junior/Youth World Championship.

Looks like a limited stream for this event.

It looks like the Individual will not be streamed.  Possible Sprint, Pursuit and Relay's.

As an aside, I am not sure how their are two threads.  I thought I posted in the original one.  Sorry about the duplicate.

Some interesting stat i read today (maybe someone is interested):

The last 4 german male gold medalists at junior world championships were:

Tom Barth (sprint 2011)

Johannes Kühn (pursuit 2011)

Max Barchwitz (individual 2020)

Danilo Riethmüller (pursuit 2020)

I was quite surprised when I read this, I would have thought that Germany had many more individual world champions during that time (Russia won 10 golds during that time and Norway won 7). Will be interesting to see how Barchwitz and especially Riethmüller will develop.

I think that from the US, I would love 2 top 10s.  I agree that any top 20 would be good.  I think the relay's, top 8?

No idea this year.  A few US biathletes did compete in IBU Cup events.  But who knows.

I think Greenland will get another medal!

I also think that 10 total teams will get medals.

Which 10 nations do you have in mind?

Last year 12 different nations won a medal and surprisingly Sweden wasn’t one of them. I doubt that Bulgaria will medal again and Belarus/USA each won only one bronze last year, on the other hand this time nations like Kazakhstan, Ukraine or New Zealand could medal.

The following individual medalists will be young enough to return (in the same age category):

- Amy Baserga (won bronze in junior women individual)

- Linda Zingerle (won gold in youth women sprint and bronze in youth women pursuit)

- Oceane Michelon (won bronze in youth women sprint)

- Anastasia Shevchenko (won gold in junior women sprint and gold in junior women pursuit)

- Aasne Skrede (won silver in junior women sprint and silver in women junior pursuit)

- Danilo Riethmüller (won gold in junior men pursuit)

- Alex Cisar (won bronze in junior men pursuit)

From a German perspective I hope that Danilo Riethmüller will win at least one medal again. Not sure about the women’s side though, there doesn’t seem to be a special talent. Germany seems to have the same problem as usual: They just aren’t competitive in cross-country.

I guess on the women’s side Zingerle should dominate at youth level and Shevchenko/Aasne should dominate at junior level, on the men’s side it looks more open.

    • Looks like it was a 'joke' by some online magazine? I can't imagine the actual Metallica was involved in it, that would suck so bad. Worst April Fool's joke I've seen.
    • Playa del Carmen Elite16   Women’s Tournament Gold-  Carol Solberg/Rebecca Cavalcanti Silver-  Terese Cannon/Megan Kraft Bronze-  Kristen Nuss/Taryn Brasher   Shoutout to my new favourite pairing of Hüberli/Kernen, who have backed up their silver at the Yucatán Challenge by recording a quarterfinal finish here by defeating Olympic Champions  Duda/Ana Patricia in straight sets in the round of 12 (to be fair, they looked off all event long, but they also beat Nuss/Brasher). This team definitely has what it takes to be a top 5 team and consistently contending for medals. First time watching Kernen play, all I can say is how is she that good at only 19? She’s gonna be a star in the future.    Men’s Tournament Gold-  Noslen Diaz/Jorge Alayo  Silver-  Tomas Capogrosso/Nicolas Capogrosso  Bronze-  Chaim Schalk/James Shaw    Schalk/Shaw defeated Olympic champions  Ahman/Hellvig in the quarterfinals   Full Results

    • So I was watching a replay of China-Germany in between Canada’s game against Sweden and this one against Italy and… it seems like China cheated during it which could’ve been critical in them winning the match?    During the 1st end, Xu with his last rock had an easy hit for the single against three German stones. One of the sweepers for China (I can’t tell which one, this team is quite new to me) “accidentally” kicked their own stone, which redirected one of their own stones into the rings, and Germany only got the steal of 2. HIS FUCKING FOOT IS TOUCHING THE ROCK   Now after, Team Xu was claiming that the stone was picked (it was not) and Muskatewitz was arguing that it couldn’t possibly have been picked. China wouldn’t admit it, and they ended up winning the game 10-9. BOO.    Hope these cheaters don’t qualify for the Olympics.
    • Edin usually has mediocre seasons though (that being said this has been worse than usual), then really starts to show up for Worlds. He’s only won 4 GSOC events in his career.     They’re at a 4-2 record at the moment, so seems to be the case again. Plus, they played really well in their loss to Canada.

    • With a week to go till the deadline for the world invitational, the rosters look beefy for the discus on both sides.24 entries for the men[19 accepted in so far] and 25 for the women[18 accepted so far] For the men so far there are three 70 meter throwers[i count Denny as that since it's just 4 centimeters off his pb]10 from mid 66 to low 69,three of 65 and over, four from almost 64 to almost 65.On the women's side the 18 accepted throwers all have a pb of over 60 meters.11 of them have  pbs over 64 plus.of the ones still not there besides Valerie and Yaime who have been marketed so i can only assume they will join, such names as  Sandra Elkasevic,Bin Feng, and jordine van klinken aren't signed up yet, jordine's probably the most likely of them to join in tough feng would be a cool surprise,i somehow don't see Sandra doing this, but it would be awesome if she did.Stahl and ceh aren't in yet on the men's side, ceh has been marketed while stahl hasn't been mentioned at all,[pretty sure stahl will not be there],Lukas[last name is too wild for me to even try] and lawrence okoye aren't there yet either but i'm betting both will be joining in.
