Sorry, I know understand the question. I had to read it more throughly. I think it's Ice hockey, as a player here is often is called a hockey player. A is my answer.

Phew ... that was close.

As far as research goes, it's always alpine skiing as it is different from cross-country skiing whereas North Americans and some European countries just say "hockey" when they mean ice hockey.
