Just picking up on the fact that we have the Kabaddi World Cup going on in  at the moment - first time it has ever been held in Europe (or so close to Europe)

 

If you've never seen it, compare it to indoor rugby, but without a ball.

Another sign that Summer is here - the 2025 Speedway Grand Prix starts tomorrow in Landshut .  

 

I'm always a fan - one of the very few technical sports where all the athletes get the same generic kit & what matters is the rider & nothing else.

Speaking of speedway, Tai Woffinden has a very bad crash in a pre-season friendly and will basically miss the full year and who knows if it affects his career as well.

Great news - the one and only legend of hot-dog eating returns to his spiritual home, the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest this year!

Records set tumbling yesterday right in the Beer Mile World Championships from Lisbon, .  Sadly, they make the classic error of putting the result of one of the races right slap bang on the entry link, so we will start with the Ladies and you will have to find your own way to the Gentlemen's race.

It's spring, so the beginning of the Wife-Carrying Championships season.  All leading up to the World Championship in July in , the Mecca of the Sport.
