How is yoga competitive? Genuine question, I only know it from those poses and as basically a form of stretching and meditation and such :p

Yogasana is a sport that focuses on the physical aspect of yoga, where players have to perform yogic postures and are judged on their difficulty, balance, control, flexibility and endurance.

The rules of yogasana are different for every event. Competitions are generally held in three major events – artistic, rhythmic and traditional.

Artistic yogasana is similar to artistic gymnastics. Athletes have to perform postures for three minutes while synchronising their performance to music.

Athletes must include 10 asanas in their routine from a predetermined list, which includes leg balance, hand balance, back bend, forward bend and body twisting. Artistic yogasana is held in individual as well as pair categories.

Meanwhile, the traditional yogasana event requires participants to hold their postures for 15 seconds or 30 seconds, depending on the asana, with emphasis being laid on balance and stability.

The third event category, rhythmic yogasana, is conducted in pairs and groups of five. Players are required to perform asanas in sync with each other and maintain each posture for five to seven seconds. Points are also awarded for smooth transition between two postures.

Can't wait to hear our generic :AUS rugby commentators on the Olympic Channel getting to grips with that lot.  :roflmao:

Wasn't AC Milan originally a cricket club?

no, I think Genua (that was founded by some British people) was originally also a cricket club, but both Milan's teams were born exclusively as football clubs (even if in the early Nineties Berlusconi tried to make AC Milan a multi-sport club like Real madrid and Barcelona, opening volleyball, baseball, rugby and ice hockey sections...unfortunately the experience ended quite quickly because of the big fincial losses)

Is anyone aware of a clear schedule for the canoe polo world championships? So far all I can find is this one here, but it's not exactly a clear one, just a massive table with lots of possible matches and no information on which matches are in which knockout phase and so on.

That's the only thing I had so far, I think I'll make do with that indeed. Not ideal, because the schedule there looks just so incredibly messy and it's even harder to tell the knockout schedule, but alright. Don't think it can be watched without a Planet Canoe subscription anyway and I'm not doing that I'm afraid :p

    • What are the odds WTA/ITF has Kostyuk vs Potapova AO R1 just to see if the hand shake happens?
    • Malinin  opted for the 4-Axel in his Short Program, but faltered, landing him in 3rd thus far (and only 0.05 away from 4th!).  Surely he has the tools to rise back up in the Free Program.  (Also, perhaps this will serve to show him that he is in fact beatable.)
    • I think they incorrectly translated Ukrainian word "nahorody" - it is not a full synonym of "medal". Its cocrrect translation is "award". Meanwhile russian tennis playes switched for Potapova ->  Rakhimova ->
    • Ukrainian diver Lyskun switches allegiance to Russia, loses all medals | Olympics News | Al Jazeera   'loses all medals'   I would assume Al Jazeera could have been a bit clearer and mention this would presumably only be national medals. I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
    • That's what I'd plan as well (except for MelFest), but I also know I am hypocritical enough to still want to watch the show and have a fun evening

For Planet VPN....well, let us know if you find out.   fil-taker-list-25-26-winterberg-1.pdf   Also, should have mentioned above that the Nations Cup races today are just over one leg, whereas there are two runs in each of the World Cup races.
