Apparently Russia have some of Covid-related problems... They didn't jump in the official training

Yet will not benefit from the restructuring of the competition tomorrow.

True, sometimes I forget how fortunate some countries are to send athletes to competitions.

Ah, Garmisch. The one ski jumping event that's shown live on the regular Dutch TV, as shown by the commentary: "The best 50 jumpers qualify for the final, together with that 5 best losers."

What

What a beginning of the year for our jumpers!

First win in this season for us, hill record for Kubacki, Żyła on podium and Kamil in fourth place with Stękała again in top 10

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.

    • Off to Milan for the 145th session of the International Olympic Committee. Although the agenda has not been published yet, there shouldn’t be any major items over these two days, apart from the election of a member of the IOC Executive Board. This will be the eighth time the session is held in Italy, the last one being during the Turin 2006 Olympic Games.
