It seems India already qualified 1 male and 1 female player for Rio !

here is the start list for the Asian Qualifiers

http://ittf.com/Ol_Qual/2016AS/2016_AQT_Entries.pdf

per rules, in first stage we will have separate tournaments for each zone and the winner qualifies for Rio, India is the only country registered from South Asia, so it will be a competition between those 4 Indian players in each gender.

What other countries are even eligible to be a part of South Asia? Maldives, Nepal and Bhutan? :d

If the winner of each regional zone will qualify for Rio, how will you be able to select the other six table tennis players per gender to complete the line-up among the Asians?

in first stage, we have separate tournaments for each zone, winners qualify (each country can enter max 4 here)

after that, in second stage we have another tournament to determine other 6 quotas. here each country can enter max 2 (those who qualified in 1st stage can enter only 1)

except for 1st stage of South Asia  , the rest of the tournament will be direct elimination. in south Asia since there are only 4 players, thy will play in round robin

As you mentioned in the second stage, only the top six non-qualified table tennis players from Asia will take the remaining spots. Am I right?

Those who qualified can't participate in 2nd stage, (even their country can enter 1 instead of 2) so no more condition, top 6 will qualify,

Wow, talking about surprises in the men's draw, Cuba grab the first two tickets unexpectedly, in both cases denying hosts Chile a spot :(

The next two days will be very exciting to watch as there at least 8 players with legit aspirations for the other 3 places... sadly Marcos Madrid once failed miserably in the first round, not even being able to take a set.

Meanwhile in the women's, Adriana Diaz of Puerto Rico demonstrated why she's probably the best player from the region and overcome a tough challenge; on the other hand Yadira Silva played her worst match and was defeated by Colombia's Lady Ruano. She'll need a lot of luck and power tomorrow, since her half of the draw is where the most difficult players are grouped.

    • It's good that Argentina is starting to get back on track economically. Every year, all of our alpine skiing teams train in August in Argentina in Ushuaia: "Fine del Mundo", as it advertises itself.
    • The relation of Trump with Russia and, more specific, with Putin is probably the most controversial (being generous) thing of the presidence of Trump, i dont believe the same but is clearly that China help democrats in that election, both are playing their games.   In Argentina the society is clearly divided, the people who are in the left side of the politics, peronist and kirchnerism are very against the goverment, propably the only genuine "rigth-wing" goverment since the recovery of the democracy in 1983. For me and the most part who are in the rigth wing: libertarians, nacionalist and conservatives, is probably the best goverment we see to this days, he made in his first year with a very few legislators in the congress some big and good changes:   1) In the economical: the inflation is only 3% per month since a more of 15% in the last months of the last year, Argentina has now fiscal, financial and comercial surplus-   2) Our country didnt have fighter planes and the goverment buy 24  American F16  -   3) He chances the electoral sistem for a "single ballot" sistem, we have an obsolete electoral sistem that doesnt change from the 19 century and specially, the peronist use for make fraud.   4) In my personal case, he really update the tax sistem for smal/medium profesionals and traders.......and that save us to pay the 50% of our earnings to the state.   With a big expectations in the goverment, its better than i thinked before.
    • It could be better, or it could be much worse, for example, if the accusations that he has been accepting large amounts of money from Russia since 2017 are confirmed. Now let Harris win, which will end Trump's political career and I hope that in 4 years the Republicans will put up someone more predictable.     btw, how is this controversial president of Argentina doing?
    • More predictable is not always better, for me the goverment of Biden was one of the worst of the History of USA and i cant imagine what can happen with even a worse version like Harris is.   I hope, for the contrary, Trump be elected and "may be" the things changes for the better in the world.
    • I once read that Harris had never been to Europe before 2020, when she became vice president. On the other hand, her foreign policy will be more predictable, because it will be a continuation of Biden's policies. That is why I hope Harris wins, although the bookmakers are betting on Trump.
    • Harris is totally green on foreign policy. It will probably be a policy 100% led by Biden's people. Harris' main campaign emphasis is on abortion and women's rights.
    • So much for "everybody's laughing at us if we elect Harris"
    • My favorite tennis tournaments of the year (wta/atp finals)
    • was also invited to the special edition of the Bolivarian Games and seems like  is not participating.
