Stunning venue .

Great news about Judy also, I hadn't heard anything :)

It was just held this afternoon. By the way, I see that Anna Merveldt is on the start list for tomorrow's second Grand Prix. Apparently that will be her first competition at this level since 2014 WEG. :)

Oh, and looks like they uploaded the video. Beats any other venue IMO. :d

Meanwhile, :LUX Luxembourg jumping team earned a historic 2nd place at their home Nations Cup event. :woot: It was actually the first NC competition in Luxembourg in 25 years, and what a great gift for the home crowd.

I believe that's the first sports event I watched from Luxembourg. It was rather weird to hear all that cheering for :LUX:d

Thanks for the video, lovely performance from Judy and Vancouver :)

Great news also about Anna.... hopefully we will see more Irish representation in future, Judy is tired waving that flag practically all on her own.

Perhaps my favourite annual equestrian event of the year started today, CDI Fritzens, Austria. :d These surroundings (especially when sunny)...

Wow, amazing venue  Sadly after years than i follow equestrian (specially jump) i don't know how dressage events works

  • 2 weeks later...

There is a proposal going around about removing the coefficient that dressage has in eventing, and thus make dressage less influential. There is also an idea for replacing the current penalty system with positive scoring system (aka, person with the most points over the three days is the winner). If accepted, these changes will be introduced in 2018.

Meanwhile, Jonty&Art campaign has raised around 64K in the first 24 hours... Including the pocket money that a 10 year old girl from ireland has sent. Hopefully Jonty will get some help from celebrities, companies and media outlets to make this work.

I've done my bit, I hope we can make it a happy ending for Jonty and Art.

CHIO Aachen main events start tomorrow. :woohoo: Wimbledon of equestrian, with full capacity stadiums. :d Here are the entries and results.

Meanwhile, it looks like :MKD Macedonia will likely compete at the European Jumping Championships in Gothenburg this summer! Luka Zaloznik switched allegiance from SLO to MKD last year, and apparently he fulfilled the qualifying criteria. :d

Well, he seems to be pretty into Macedonia with a helmet like this. :d Maybe he has some family connections.

    • Finals are set    An all-Canadian final on the women’s side, as Team Homan looks to win their third title of the season (and improve to 18-1) against a hungry Team Einarson who have had a less than ideal start to the season, they were also the last Canadian team to beat Homan over a year ago (same event coincidentally), while on the men’s side it’ll be a battle between Olympic medalists as Team Mouat goes against Team Gushue!
    • Yeah, it was clear. But i repeat, we need it? I think no.
    • GSOC HearingLife Tour Challenge Semifinals  Women  Team Fujisawa v.  Team Einarson  Team Lawes v.  Team Homan   Men  Team Mouat v.  Team McEwen  Team Dunstone v.  Team Gushue
    • In the past the ISU has now allowed countries without a Federation to compete.
    • yeah I know    I mean it wasn't a different team specific for that sport. it was the same CC team participating in both sports.
    • It is run by a different federation though
    • from what I heard , Iran has registered to participate in Alpine, CC skiing, SkiMo, Skating (they didn't mention which discipline ) and ... (this one will be surprising ) ... Curling    Curling is not a sure thing yet, the NOC has to approve it. the team is very new. I mean very very new, only few months ago they gathered few people to start the sport  you can't lose 100-0 in Curling, right ?    anyway it will be first time ever Iran participating outside of FIS disciplines. ( I didn't count Ski orienteering in 2011 which was the same as CC)   nobody cares about winter sports here. therefore finishing last won't have consequences. they can afford sending very weak teams. (which is not the case for the main Asian Games)
    • World Junior Championships ( Dushanbe)   Day #4 Medallists   women's -78kg Gold:  Brenda Olaya Silver:  Mathilda Sophie Niemeyer Bronze:  Eva Ronja Buddenkotte &  Dandara Camilo   women's +78kg Gold:  Lee Hyeon Ji Silver:  Celia Cancan Bronze:  Chihiro Yamaguchi &  Safa Soliman   men's -100kg Gold:  Mukhammadsodik Sodikov Silver:  Nozomu Miki Bronze:  Azhdar Baghirov &  Fares Mekhoukh   men's +100kg Gold:  Denis Batchaev Silver:  Kanan Nasibov Bronze:  Saba Kardava &  Ibrahim Tataroglu
    • 100 days to go until the first multi-sports games of the 2025
    • 11 medals out of 15 athletes. for whatever reason  we sent an incomplete team of 16 athletes (only 1 left for tomorrow) I wish I knew why  I can guess though   the result is indeed very good in such a competitive sport but lack of talent was never our problem in taekwondo. it was always there probably much more than any other country.    but the problem is the transition to the senior team. most of previous junior world champions never even made the senior team. (the new federation is doing better in this regard though)
