Recommended Posts

Pretty standard statistic here for 2015. I'll just write them in english, the other slavic people here will know the correct pronounciation on some of them :d

Boys: 1. George, 2. Alexander, 3. Martin, 4. Dimitar, 5. Ivan, 6. Nicolay, 7. Nicola, 8. Daniel, 9. Victor, 10. Christian

Girls: 1. Victoria, 2. Maria, 3. Nicole, 4. Alexandra, 5. Gabriela, 6. Daria, 7. Raja (no english name here, but it is translated into Heaven), 8. Joana, 9. Sofia, 10. Simona

The european common name Ema is at number 17 here for 2015. :p

Some statistics says that in Serbia the most popular given names for babies are Nikola (male) and Milica (female).

I just read that most popular names now are Dunja and Lazar.  Also Lena, Maša for girs and Luka and Stefan for boys.

in Serbia there are many names for women who are actually names for fruits. Like Višnja (cherry), Dunja (quince), Jagoda (strawberry) and Malina (raspberry).

No, not many i guess. :d Harry Potter was fairly popular in schools 10 years ago, but with kids growing up it faded away in their memory. I certanly have 2 close friends that were huge HP fans back in the day, all over the books and movies, but now if it is brought in a conversation, they go "pff that kids book" :d

    • this is not funny at all, pal
    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
