:CAN William Dandjinou with a gold medal sweep of the individual distances!

And per commentators, they can't find another example of a male ever doing that at an event.

I think he already did it last year in MTL...at home, at the beginning of the season, he's just untouchable...then, the Asian and European season are a different beast

Nope - Jens took the 1000m in Stop 1, and Dubois took the 500m in Stop 2.  But still quite impressive!

Both of our leading women on the podium in the 1500m!  Hopefully we'll be able to snag a gold in the next stop.

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
