Mosaner and Constantini are also out of form here and won't win gold. We had 3-4 sure-fire points, but unfortunately, they are out of good shape here. If it were 4 gold medals, 1-2 would have been a surprise, like yesterday. However, we can't seem to get into form as favorites for key home competitions.

Canada loves to finish 4th, unless it's to reach the playoffs. Then 5th is all they can do.

When you had the Olympics at home in 2010, you won the medal table, but Italy struggles to win two gold medals out of 10 overall. That's the difference between a serious country and amateurs who don't know how it's done. So don't worry too much.

Women's team should be in the final, but Homan has failed to reach the playoffs in two previous Olympics (Women's team in 2018, Mixed Doubles in 2022). Only three Canadian curling teams have ever not made the playoffs at the Olympics so far, and she's done it twice. But, she's ranked 1st in the world and has been dominant, so hopeful.

 

Men's is a bit less strong, but still favoured to get a medal. Final should be the goal.

They're in poor form at home. They were great four years ago. Even if we have some favorites, they disappoint. If you're organizing a home Olympics, you need 4-5 safe- gold medalists, plus 2-3 nice upsets, and you have 7-8 gold medals. We have actually no sure- gold medalists, or they disappoint, leaving only surprises, but there will likely never be more than 2-3 at all.
