I don't think Russia will ever return to athletics. They've been out of the game since 2015, long before the war in 2022.

Alonso lost several World Championships at the very end of the season to Vettel etc., if I remember good?

Italy has almost no dominant people in sport, except perhaps in women's fencing some years ago. Sinner is supposedly great, but Alcaraz is younger and better than him. Maybe Alberto Tomba in alpine skiing someday, but that was 30 years ago...

Yes, when he was in Ferrari he finished second after Vettel two seasons in a row and the first time was a very close championship.
