c'mon! stop those idiots! they're trying hard to ruin athletics in almost every aspect (road running, field events, the same cross country that has already been killed in practice)

Marathon and race walking acts as a good change to the otherwise schedule which takes place in stadium. I don't think I'll be interested in these standalone events though. There can be world race walking, throwing, jumping, middle distance, combined, relays, sprints, middle and long distance etc in non world championship years but removing the events is so unnecessary..

Plus they are always free to watch, rather than the fortune it costs to take a family to the stadium.

Sam Mattis-72.45[New American and North American record after 43 years] 8th on the all time list 

Kristjan Ceh- 72.61[furthers his slovenian record,7th on the all time list]

Steven Richter- 74.00[8 cm off the german record.jumps from a pb of 69.61 in ramona last year,also had throws of 73.96,and 73,15 in the series worst throw was 69.90] 4th all time result,3rd on the european all timelist now only behind Mykolas Alekna and jurgen schult]

 

Matthew Denny- 74.04[very consistant series all over 70 meters,however has had longer throws in ramona.]

 

first time ever in discus history six men have gone over 70 metres in one comp,yes this was all in one flight. sequals on sunday.
