Maybe yes. But after Torino 2006 only Vancouver 2010 had a vibe that European Winter Olympics can have. So I am happy they are back here.

Rio 2016 was so great imo that I surely want another Summer Olympics in the southern hemisphere, in a country where they were never held before. 

 

 Cape Town would be my choice.

I think a winter Olympics would have to be New Zealand, Chile or Argentina

Yes, South Africa for summer olympics. 

 

But i don't think they will ever make winter games down under. That one would have to be held in summertime in the northern hemisphere - so absolutely not.
