One day the IOC will allow 12-team tournaments for invited sports and then Canada will have a much better chance at making it.

I'm sure when that happens Canada will find new ways to screw up.

Baseball is one of their prides, and I'm happy that they'll finally be able to see their team at the Olympics.

This is why baseball is good for the Olympics. There are nations that will compete for medals in baseball that very rarely compete for medals in many other sports. :VEN did not win a single medal at Paris 2024.

Someone here posted about how a lot of :GBR's roster here wouldn't be able to play in the Olympics due to differing criteria of eligibility between the tournaments.  Does anyone know if the same is true for :ITA's roster?  Per MLB's site, most of these guys were born in the USA, but perhaps many of them also have an Italian passport.

some of them already have the Italian passport, however all of them are eligible to get it, if required

should our NOC and federation want (which is a big "if"), we are always able to field a very competitive team, even better than this one on paper (we could call up pitchers like Gerrit Cole and Zac Gallen, for instance)

    • For me they gave Canada the gold in the relay in exchange for a 1000-meter dsq gold for Dandjinou, that's how I see it. It was a battle between Kor and Can on 2 of this case. It's hard to say why that last dsq for Kor was in relay? Of course, Italy win bronze thanks for that, but that's not really important. It would have been better if the referees had just stayed out of the results and left it as it was decided for fight on the ice.

    • the quata for europe or australia is from the primer 12, where the top 20 teams will participate, sadly  is the 21th team so the only slight chance for us in my opinion is if: we get top 2 at the european championship (not including  hopefully if they get the quata), then somehow win the final qualification tournament against i assume  and one of    the chances for us are slim, i think about 4 other team sports  have a better chance in in my opinion(and the most team sports we ever had was one, and it was the last two time after a long time )

    • In my opinion the Italian team has been playing above expectations since last year after several years of decline. Last year, we advanced to the first division at the European Championships and now they're playing very close matches against the strong India and Scotland. We a little miss a potential to do more – we are only 18th in the world rankings. Our men's team's performance in this sport is much weaker.
