:DOM and :VEN seem to be the favourites, but I wouldn't count out :MEX and :PUR:CUB are in the mix

:CAN sucks at the WBC and we have some key names missing, no chance for us

Actually, I think I would favoured Mexico over Venezuela now. Not necessarily because of the skill level between the two teams but I realized that because the way the bracket is set up, there's a good chance Venezuela will play Japan in the quarterfinal and that would be a challenge.

I would be shocked if Cuba qualifies. A lot of baseball experts have them finishing last in their pool.

I just realized we're here. :yikes: :yikes:

Yeah, very happy to see that Brazil qualified! And most impressively, the roster is mostly home-grown players unlike a few other teams here.

Unfortunately, it will be hard for you guys to win a game but I will definitely be rooting for you guys to have success!

Nicaragua and DR tied at 3 in the 6th. Really impressed with Nicaragua so far

Elsewhere, Brazil only down 2-1 to the US. Of course Aaron Judge has a home run.

Taiwan scored a run! It's a miracle!!!

Edit: Taiwan has completely taken their frustration out on the Czech Republic. 14-0 now in the 6th inning.

15-5 win for the US over Brazil and 12-3 win for the Dominican Republic over Nicaragua. Both Brazil and Nicaragua put up a good fight but ultimately, they couldn't contain the two powerhouse teams for the full game.

They did quite well. If you remove the 9th and 8th inning respectively they would have had a respectable performance.

    • This came out on the official website yesterday. Updated list of events and competition schedules in Japanese.   Padel and Teqball are on the schedules. Looks like two events for Padel and five for Teqball.   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会競技プログラム.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会デイリースケジュール.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会セッションスケジュール.pdf   On the sports programme PDF, Padel is #25 and Teqball is #38.
    • looks like the agreement is the international federations are in fact hosting the event, not the AG organizers, so everything is up to them to make it happen.   Teqball is now confirmed to have 5 events (singles and doubles) does it mean easy 5 gold medals for Thailand ?   Padel is not 100% confirmed yet. I assume there are still talks ongoing between the IF and the Japanese organizers.
    • I feel like this year's Eurovision is more wide open than ever 😂   There isn't a clear favorite, and that makes everything more exciting. Finland is looking strong, sure, but Ukraine always knows how to surprise people and connect with them. I was checking out the odds a bit, and I was struck by how quickly they're rising.   By the way, I found a site that compares the odds pretty clearly: https://casasdeapuestaseurovision.com/   It’s nothing special, but it gives you an idea of how things are shaping up before the semifinals. Although we all know how this goes… at Eurovision, everything can change in a matter of minutes
