The opening ceremony was postponed from yesterday to today after poor weather conditions.

Am I right that, if there's less than 3 competitors, only the winner gets a medal?

I'm not familiar with the minimum participation rules and medal allocation procedures set by ODEBO. Maybe @Fer GUA can give a better answer.

 

I do know that minimum participation rules can affect viability of events and/or medal allocations at the Commonwealth Games, Central American and Caribbean Games and Mediterranean Games.

I know these rules apply in some championships. I'm just not sure if they apply in all.

I do know that minimum participation rules can affect viability of events and/or medal allocations at the Commonwealth Games, Central American and Caribbean Games and Mediterranean Games.

I found out that for an event to be considered official there is a minimum of 3 athletes from different countries. If a country backs out there is a penalty of US$1,000 so probably that's what happened. The regulation does not states anything about not giving medals to the participants if less than 3.
